I think the problem with Jimmy is his Biblical understanding. He seems to think that when Christ was born is when He came into existence.
John chapter 1 states that; In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God. Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John UK wrote: When the Lord of Glory came to me and called me by grace, I did not have a pastor, nor was I attending a church. I had no interest at all in religion, and it was an amazing thing that the Lord Jesus should come to me of all people, turning me around and giving me eternal life which I deserved not. At the time of my calling I had no understanding of the deity of Christ or the Holy Trinity or any other doctrine, except that I was a guilty sinner before God, bound for hell, that Jesus was Lord of all, that Jesus had died to save sinners by bearing their sins on the Cross, and that my own works could only carry me off to hell, and that forever, without parole. If you imagine vainly that the Lord Jesus requires a full comprehension of doctrinal matters before he pronounces a sinner forgiven and gives them eternal life, you need to read a New Testament and make a few observations.
What a wonderful testimony John. It is a blessing to me to read your post this morning.
Now I'm really confused.NOTbyworks posted on 3/10/12 @ 11:37 AM
To "repent and (really) be baptised" the sinner requires first the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Without Him the sinner is unable to discern, dead in sin, at enmity with God.

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may ABIDE with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; "WHOM THE WORLD CANNOT RECEIVE", because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth WITH YOU, and (FUTURE TENSE) SHALL BE *IN* YOU.
It just seems like this scripture contradicts the whole argument NOTbyworks is trying to make.
Just downloaded the e-Sword latest version today and was really impressed.
I had been using WORDsearch 7 and there is no comparison. One of the little things I like is the ability to increase the text size so it's easier for an old guy like me to read.Another is the number of downloads available,by far superior to anything I've used.
I have a question concerning the video from SermonAudio on my Roku XD.There is an issue with the sermon videos skipping every so often during playing. Is this issue due to something with the source or is it a problem with my player?
I've tried watching different sermons from different broadcasters but the video still skips ahead intermittently.
BTW I love the fact you guys are available on Roku and this is the only problem I've had.

Without Piper's (et al) brilliant process soteriology, the sins of adultery and homosexuality will come to be counted as naught and explode through the roof.
Irene, since you say salvation is a process,I would like your thoughts about the dying thief on the cross.
Just curious because my father never believed in "death-bed salvation" as he called it,maybe he thought it was a process too?
Here we go again. This publicity hound just can't help himself, apparently.Even goes so far as to say that his false prophesy was used to advance the cause of Christ.I,for one,do not believe that God uses lies and deceit to draw believers to Himself, and to claim such a thing is blasphemous.
All this does,in effect,is to show unbelievers and God-haters how right their thinking about "Christians" really is.
Harold camping,in reality,is no different than a politician caught in a lie. He's just trying to spin the "story",and do as much damage control as possible.Besides the publicity was waning and he needs to stay in the spotlight as much as possible.Like I said,
It's nice to see their letting Bobby speak in public again.Seems to be in pretty good shape too, after all this time in re-education camp.Look forward to hearing him toe the party line once more.No more "professional left" slip-ups for Robert.
Couple of things.1)How did the school know in advance what the notes said? 2)Were all valentines "pre-approved"or was this just a random "screening"? Finally, who compares John 3:16 to a message about antisemitism?
I just noticed the story is from Wisconsin, that makes sense.
San Jose John wrote: Getting back to the logo, is it just me or does it look like people are ascending out of a manhole/sewer? Looks to me like the proponents of this emerging immoral situation are communicating more than they realize!
Interesting observation. When I first saw it,I thought it looked like people in a pit reaching out for help.
Isn't religious freedom the reason that people left their native lands and came to America? I miss the way we used to believe in the heritage of this nation. Now all anyone wants to do,it seems,is "fundamentally transform"this country into a land of atheists. Our history is being edited, revised and rewritten right before our eyes. Our children are being indoctrinated in public schools from an early age to believe these lies.True Christians are being attacked on all sides.
God help us to return to Him while there is still time to change the road we're on.
Interestingly if you do a search on SA of previous news reports on Pat Robertson. You'll find several other stories that say "God showed me"or "God told me" that such and such happened for a certain reason.Or this or that will happen.
As far as I can tell none of his, then future predictions, came to pass.Maybe that's why he's reluctant to say who he's referring to.
He's really starting to resemble another "religious celebrity" who recently predicted the end of the world on Oct 21.

Looks like the real deal to me.
As to the rest of your comment I'm almost positive you're 100% correct.Pickings in the field were slim at best in the beginning. Now it seems John McCain 2.0,a.k.a Mitt Romney,is the Heir apparent.Obama's team must be jumping for joy in anticipation of facing another inept opponent in 2012.
To begin with you say this "truth" is right there in front of us in scripture, could you post the scriptures that teaches a 7yr.trib,Jesus secretly returning to gather his people and then returning later to judge the earth? Your own words say the way a believer is purified is through persecution, then why would God remove his people from it? I'm not uncomfortable with prophecy and what I understand about the end times is there will be a lot of deception.Jesus mentions it several times in Matt.24. He said it would be as in the days of Noah.Who was taken and who were left after the flood, were the wicked left after the flood or were they taken away? Something to seriously think about.

Margaret Sanger's Pill, abortion and sterilization are unknown. How to join? Buy acreage and farm adjacent to Amish property. Eschew the power grid and indoor plumbing. Befriend your Amish neighbors. After 2-3 years, be invited to their Sunday meetings of the church. Viola. You're Amish.
Do you know any Amish families personally? I have known some Amish who were very clannish and not too trusting of outsiders. From my experience it would be difficult to become Amish.
