No religious valentines, Sheboygan school tells 2nd-grader
In preparation for Valentine's Day, second-grader Dexter Thielhelm worked with his mom and siblings to create valentines of candy and a special message of love for his friends at James Madison Elementary School.
He filled empty water bottles with candy and included a rolled-up verse from the Bible with the message, "Jesus loves you."
The valentines never reached the hands of his friends, however, because school officials collected them before they could be distributed.
Couple of things.1)How did the school know in advance what the notes said? 2)Were all valentines "pre-approved"or was this just a random "screening"? Finally,who compares John 3:16 to a message about antisemitism?
I just noticed the story is from Wisconsin,that makes sense.
"For one thing, Holzman said, the other second-graders were expecting a valentine — not a religious verse — and thus weren't in a position to accept or decline the message."
What a stupid thing to think and say! And he is the district's assistant superintendent of student and instructional services.
Psalm 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
Of course Valentine's Day isn't religious! Who ever claimed otherwise? And besides, that kid's trite message is not the Gospel anyway.
If the RCC & their disciples thought official holydays are going to make everyone more religious, they were sadly mistaken. ALL of them have been thoroughly secularized, notwithstanding Christians' vain & foolish attempts to do the reverse: ● St. Patrick's Day (pretend to be Irish, get soused, & forget about the historic Patrick) ● St. Valentine's Day (flirt via love-cards) ● Astarte-Day (candy, bunnies, & eggs) ● Christ-Mass (Santa Claus, Charles Dickens, & the rest). Atheists often dig it.
If I was that kid I would have refused to hand over those valentines to those school officials who were acting according to instructions that were put into their brains by Satan.
