J4J Evryone quotes scripture. The JW's do it. Satan did it in the desert. Christians undertaking a serious bible study can differ because we are at various stages of spiritual growth. You however, have a penchant to wade in to discover bizarre secret trinkets that has remained hidden to everyone else. There is both, baptism of the Holy Spirit, and water baptism. The context in 1Cor1 is water baptism. Paul's main point is that he doesn't want littles sects of Christianity based on whose line your church traces back to. “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord. If there is no water baptism, then in all of Paul's ministry, he only "gave" the Holy Spirit to a handful that he can't even remember for the most part. How he can dispense the Holy Spirit, only you are privy to that secret. Isn't the Holy Spirit THE MOST ESSENTIAL element of a believer? Paul should drop everything he is doing and do the one thing that matters the most. But in verse 17, he does the opposite. 1Cor "14I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; 15Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. 16And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. 17For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel" |

RC is NOT Christian. Make no allowances for that.God deserves all the glory and honor exclusively! RC exists to supplant that. RC is satans ploy to attack the Church from within. There is not a single place, NOT ONE, where RC sincerely honors God. It pretends to, by doing just enough to get accepted, then divert worship. Satan's RC is so beguiling that it steals by pretending to be helping us. Of course Jesus is God and Saviour, the devil aknowledges that. That's why we can turn to the devil and join him. We can pray to the devil to help us. And satan and his minions can take care of all our dealings with God. This is RC unmasked. It exists to supplant God. God is never sufficient. Gods work is never sufficient. At the core, Satan's most succesfull attack has been to convince man that he is god - fallen man comming to the aid of a helpless God. This is the pillar that Rome is built upon. |

As for going forth and multiplying, I'm glad that was cleared up. Oops. Oh I got it allright! Whether it's to do with children or adults, it's a variation of the same thinking - that, "there'd been more for me, if there had been less of all of you aound". |

Love n marriage wrote: Or they could just do the religious (skip the legal) ceremony and then live together. Or skip the church, do the civil, and live together. Isn't it all real marriage no matter how you slice it? Most people are skipping either one and are just living together. The state has come to terms with this and accepts this as equal to marriage. The church wants a formal declaration |

'Remarriage rates plunge'No, people aren't forgoing partnering up again, they're forgoing the marriage ceremony and just living together. Divorces are bigger then ever. It's more to do with a shift in the societal stigma that was attached to both, (and the changes in the role of women). The bible sees marriage as a 'one-flesh union' that no man can put asunder. No divorce! "SOME WOMEN", could your anger and bitterness be the result of over zealous Christians around you? Or could it be that your current lifestyle is in conflict with your Christian upbringing? God isn't angry with you, waiting to pounce on you. Yes, God has always and for all times required PERFECT obedience to ALL His laws. But we could never make it. The law was given so that we could marvel and give God the glory for the grace that was extended to us on the cross. Amazing grace at that! "SOME WOMAN", Out of pure grace God works on renewing your heart and mind to glory in Him alone. Yes, God doesn't allow divorce. But God deals with you where you are now, not with what you had already done. Leave the past in His hands. Trust Him for His grace now, not in your ability to do anything. |
