continued to DB,

You quoted Rom. 10:17, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

This verse is the truth. Does everyone who hears the word of God have faith? The answer is obviously not. It is only the preached Word accompanied
by the Holy Spirit that faith is produced.

How do I know this you may ask?

The grace that we are saved through faith is not of ourselves. Epeshians 2:8-10

Rather it is a gift of God not of works lest any man should boast.

Rom. 10:12-13 "For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto ALL that call upon him. For WHOSOEVER shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

So who will come? Who will call? Who will be saved? It is ALL who have been regenerated of the Holy Spirit and brought to faith and repentance, elect of the Father and redeemed through the blood of the Son.

DB,

Thank-you for answering my questions. Now I will answer your question.

You asked, "if repentence toward God and belief in the gospel of Christ's death on the cross is God's prerequisite to salvation."

My answer is no. I do not believe repentance and belief is prerequisite to salvation but is included in salvation through regeneration of the Holy Spirit. That is why one must be born again before he can repent and believe.

I will state that faith and repentance are the first evidences of the Holy Spirit's work of regeneration in the Christian's life.

In response to my second question you replied, "You know very well my position that one who is lost in sin doesn't arbitrarily seek God on his own accord or volition, thus the need of evangelizing the lost by bringing the gospel to them because he won't come to us."

You have admitted that the Holy Spirit regenerates but in another breath you say "he won't come to us". Jesus likened the Holy Spirit to the wind. The wind blows where it wills. Can we control when and where the wind blows?

John 3:8

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

DB,

You have yet to answer my questions:

Can someone who is dead in trespasses and sins be saved without the Holy Spirit's work of regeneration?

If no, is the Holy Spirit governed by the will of man or by His own purpose which is the will of God?

Then who will the Holy Spirit regenerate from sin to life and righteousness in Christ?

The Holy Spirit regenerates those called and elected of the Father and have been redeemed through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

2Th 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because GOD HATH FROM THE BEGINNING CHOSEN YOU TO SALVATION THROUGH SANCTIFICATION OF THE SPIRIT AND BELIEF OF THE TRUTH:

Epeshians 2:1,8-10

"And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins...For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, WHICH GOD HATH BEFORE ORDAINDED THAT WE SHOULD WALK IN THEM."

The grace that we are saved through faith is not of ourselves.

So where does this GRACE that we are SAVED through FAITH come from?

Romans 3:10-12

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one."

There is none that understandeth. How can one understand that he is ungodly?

There is none that seeketh after God? How does one seek Him?

To Whom it May Concern from A better Man than us,

If you want to become a Russellite you can choose to be one whenever you like according to your own free will.

JD and Michael,

The cults have something more in common with your unbiblical beliefs and that is free will salvation. They too also believe in free will and that you can choose God in order to gain His approval and salvation.

The JW's (Russelites) don't believe that Jesus Christ is God and reject the person of the Holy Spirit in the Godhead. The mormons also deny that Jesus is God.

Sorry there is a big difference between those that adhere to the biblical doctrines of grace and those that are extrabiblical cults.

These are more false accusations to avoid the truth.

Michael,

Why do you continue to argue against God's Word?

Who will look? Who will come? Who will respond to the gospel call?

They who will savingly respond are those for whom Christ died and shed His blood. They are the elect chosen of God and regenerated of the Holy Spirit.

Michael,

You said, "that is just the point the theology of 5 Point Calvinism in its definitions of election and predestination (predestinating people to hell before they were ever born supposedly for His glory) presents a view of God that violates (abrogates) that He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

The Word of God uses the terms election and predestination, they are not my terms so your arguement is with God. I believe God's Word.

BTW, Peter is speaking to the elect in the verse you quoted.

2 Peter 3:9

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to US-WARD, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

All God's elect and chosen ones will repent in Christ Jesus through the operation of the Holy Spirit.

If God wanted everyone without exception to repent ALL would repent.

Job 23:13

"But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth."

Michael,

Please don't put words in my mouth. I desire the whole world to be saved, but not my will be done but God's will be done.

BTW, my theology allows me to declare and proclaim the gospel truths to all. It is the Holy Spirit that will regenerate those who are the elect of God. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing of the Word of God. I do not know who the elect are but God does.

I can't save sinners only God can.

1 Corinthians 3:6

"I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase."

If God loves everyone in the wholeworld without exception why didn’t Christ die for the whole world, everyone without exception?
Joh 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Joh 10:15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep

Not the goats!

Mat 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Not all without exception but many!

Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Not for all without exception but the church!

Mat 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Once again, not all without exception but many!

Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

His people not everyone without exception

One of many definitions for the greek word ‘kosmos’

From the KJV New Testament Greek Lexicon

If God loves everyone in the whole world without exception why does He tell us, love not the world and that if we do, the love of the Father is not in us?

(1Jo 2:15) Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

If God loves everyone in the whole world without exception why does He tell us that the friendship of the world is enmity (an enemy; ill will; hatred) with Him and that if we be a friend of the world we are an enemy of God?

(Jam 4:4) Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

If God loves everyone in the whole world without exception why didn’t He pray for the world?

(Joh 17:9)… I pray not for the world…

If God loves everyone in the whole world without exception why does He curse the man who loves not the Lord Jesus Christ?

(1Co 16:22) If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.
(Let them be cursed for the Lord cometh)

cont.

To lie comes very easy to you just to win an arguement. There is no need to lie if you are not ashamed of free will salvation.
