“ Very Edifying Message ”
This message was quite insightful on the doctrine of repentance, which is very much neglected in preaching today.

Yamil,

You said, " In John 6, the word "elect" is not even mentioned. If Jesus wanted to teach what you would had liked him to teach he would have simply stated it. In contrast he betrays your position by stating: "I will draw all men unto me."

Jesus did speak of election, He might not have used the word elect, but he definitely describes election. We also know Paul and Peter both of Christ's apostles used the term election in their writings inspired of the Holy Spirit.

Why does God blind the eyes of some men and reveals the truth to others by drawing them?

John 12:37-40

But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: That the saying of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? Therefore they could not believe, because that Isaiah said again, He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Mike from New York,

You said, "Suffice it to say, I believe John 3:16, and that I am one of the world that God so loved, that whosoever believes in Him(Praise God for his mercy and grace to me!) should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Actually you and Yamil don't believe John 3:16. You deny that the world in the biblical context is to the elect consisting of Jews and Gentiles of every tribe, nation and language.

You contradict Christ's words and say all sheep are both goats and sheep. Christ laid down His life for the sheep not the goats.

If God loves the whole world then why does John say,

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
(Jam 4:4)

Jesus also said,

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world,***but I have chosen you out of the world***, therefore the world hateth you.
(Joh 15:18-19)

Yamil,

Can you please condense all the material you have spammed on the comments. I am in no way going to read all this blabbering material.

Please summarize into one single comment of 1300 words. Thank-you.

Yamil,

You said,

"But I doubt that that means that God has arbitrarily chosen some to fornicate."

Obviously, sinners are in bondage to their sin, the world and Satan.

Yamil,

A natural man is not born again or regenerated of the Holy Spirit and does not discern the spiritual truths of the Word of God. Rather, they are surface, shallow and carnal and resort to debasing the truth and mockery of the truth.

Yamil,

I thought you would be flattered by calling you a natural man who is spiritually discerned. Well thats what you are. In the fanciful land of the freewill/arminian.

Yamil,

It is you who does not understand what world means in the biblical context. The gospel is not to the Jews only but to Jews and Gentiles chosen of God.

Yamil,

Did you see my question in my previous post to you?

Can you please answer that.

You said, "Right... he also meant to say "only a few are elected to salvation" although somehow he did not actually say it."

I know you are spiritually discerned and don't get it.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
(1Co 2:14)

Why did Jesus say, "For many are called, but few are chosen.
(Mat 22:14)"?

Mike from New York,

I notice you always ask questions or put up little statements here and there but you never offer a full explaination of what you believe. Are you ashamed of what you believe or are you nervous that someone might challenge your belief system?

Yamil,

Notice those who are drawn in the context of John 6.

v44. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
The Father calls the elect and draws them.

v63. It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
It is the spirit that quickeneth and the flesh profits nothing. Christ speaks to them of spiritual things.

v64. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
Christ already knew those who believed not.

v65. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
No man can come to Christ except it was given to him of the Father. There is nothing in ourselves to choose Christ in our own freewill. Salvation is an act of God.

This can be confirmed in many passages of Scripture. Here is one:

Joh 1:12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (13) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Mike from New York,

You said, "Ok Joe, I'm willing to be taught the obvious truths of Ps 58:3. What are they? Is the verse hyperbole or should it be interpreted literally?"

The scope of this verse teaches original sin when you compare it with the whole of the Scripture message.

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
(Rom 5:12)

JD,

You said, "But this following verse means everyone who ever lived although it is written in the first person singular;

Ps 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me."

It is singular because the Psalmist said it, but it is applicable to the whole human race. It agrees with the whole Scriptures.

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
(Rom 5:12)

David is describing his sin nature, and how it effects his whole life, from conception until death.

Christ was not born in sin. Christ is sinless and through the incarnation was conceived of the Holy Ghost in the womb of the virgin Mary.

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
(Mat 1:23)

Mike from New York,

You said concerning Psalm 58:3, "Hyperbole. Why try to make this verse literal? One's own God given sense tells you that newborns do not go astray as soon as they are born, nor do they speak lies, or anything else. That will take a few years."

That is a very shallow and carnal comment. I think you understand it's meaning, but deny the obvious truths of Scripture.
