How about removing the word 'church'? I've seen many cases in the USA where they no longer call themselves "ABC Baptist Church" but "Jesus Love Fellowship" or something like that, all to not offend someone, anyone.
I should proof-read my comments before posting them, because I meant to say that homeschooling parents should NOT worry about missing this event. Yes, a few scholarships may be in play, but I think there are plenty of colleges out there and not too many students studying sciences to compete for the spots. It's one reason why the H-1-B visa program is admitting thousands of foreigners to work in the US.
I think he is mixing up his religion with politics. Govt leaders in the West do not care about his small branch of Christianity. Most Christians in the West do not care about his small branch of Christianity, and some of them, including some who post right here, would argue that he is not a real Christian but is way off base! So of course there is no solidarity! I think most Protestants in places like the US have no idea of church history beyond the 1800s when their particular church denomination made it start or even later for groups like the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA).
Not a very evangelistic comment there, Dylan. I think Jesus prayed that we would not be taken out of the world but protected from the evil one. But I think the home-schooled students need to worry about the science fair. Their objective is to get into college, and any college I think would be happy to have them as is. Some might say they will miss scholarships if they can't compete in this specific event, but I doubt that. I know I hated science fairs when I went to school. I still do.
I don't think everyone goes to Thailand to buy counterfeit items. They can be had at many flea markets and online via eBay or other online private sales.
It sounds like he has been reading all the negative comments on Christmas that have been posted here! Just to think--I thought only 20 or less people regularly posted and read the comments here.
