I dont think much of Billy Graham, but I will add this:Philippians 1:15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: 1:16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: 1:17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. 1:18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. I know not what his motive is in preaching the Gospel, nor do I think much of altar calls, but I will rejoice that many have heard the gospel through him and have been saved, though I imagine his emotion driven altar calls have led to more false conversions than genuine conversions. But then again, only the elect truly respond to the gospel. |

Unprofitable Servant wrote: Will someone connect the dots for me? How is the slaughter of Christians by Muslims the fault of the churches in American or any other country for that matter. When the Roman government and the Jews were murdering, torturing and imprisoning Christians, could you show me where the blame for that was laid upon the "moral failure" church of that day. Thanks I too dont see how the Church is responsible for the actions of unregenerate sinners. Even in dead apostate churches nobody in encouraging the slaughter of Christians over seas. |

Michael,I fail to see the point you are making. Romans 11 speaks of salvation coming to the gentiles, and that Jews have been given a spirit of slumber correct? Now Paul makes it clear that their is a remnant according to the election of grace and God has not forsaken the Jews. So, when this remnant is saved threy are graffed back in and would be part of the Church. Like I pointed out earlier, only the Church is heir to the promises of Abraham. Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. I think I will exit this conversation for now, and later tonight I will check out the sermons MS posted |

John,I believe that true Israel is the church, and that the gospel has broken down the wall between Jew and gentile. Galatians 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. 6:16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. Ephesians 2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; |

John for JESUS wrote: GSTexas... I got cut short on my last post. I quoted Ezekiel 36:20-27 in order to show you that God wasn't bringing the Israelis back to their land for their sake, as if they were somehow deserving of it. God did it for His name's sake. Also, look at the order of events. First the people of Israel are brought back to their land (verse 24) and then they are made clean (verse 25). What we see now in our time is verse 24 and what will happen at the end of the Tribulation is verse 25. I see you ignored Ezekiel 37:12-14, here it is for you again:Ezekiel 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. 37:13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, 37:14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD |

Continued:Ezekiel 37:11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. 37:13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, 37:14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD. 37:22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all: 37:23 Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God. 37:24 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all s |

John for Jesus,My point earlier was that you said that the law had nothing to do with the promise, and yet they were removed from their land for not keeping it. Also, if they were removed from their land for their wickedness, why would God return them while they are still in a wicked state? This is not what scripture teaches. Ezekiel 36:24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. 36:25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. 36:28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. 36:29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you. 36:30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famin |
