Advent writes: Setting up a false premise like the importance of the crucifixion over his advent is nonsense, because as you've already realized the one could not have happened without the other.
Yes, I see this, they are all intricately tied together. I guess I just took fault with his birth being labeled the best news ever without any mention of his death and resurrection, for the best news ever would be incomplete. I apologize for my ignorance.
Advent Day writes: An honest question that beggars belief and a ridiculous premise to hide behind.
Then show me in Scripture that the birth of Christ is more important than his death and resurrection. It is his death and resurrection that saves us, not his birth. Now, his miraculous birth is of paramount importance, and an integral part of the gospel, I am not disputing this, I am simply saying that the best news ever is incomplete without the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
P.S. I am open to being wrong, and appreciate constructive criticism.

Where is she calling people names or imposing her beliefs? If she is doing this, it isnt in this thread. There is much I disagree with Delores on, but I do try to be respectful to her, and I will stand up for her if she is attacked for no reason. Like I said, if you disagree with her stand on Christmas that is your right. But goading her, and imposing your beliefs on her is not biblical.
Did you even read my post? From my post " I am not saying his birth is unworthy of rejoicing, just that his miraculous birth should not have precedence over his death and resurrection."
I asked an honest question, now if you disaree with my premise, than show from Gods word that the birth of Christ is equal to, or greater in importance than his death and resurrection. If you are going to be rude, then dont even bother replying.
Not trying to downplay the birth of Christ, but how is that the best news ever? I thought his death on the cross, his being the propitiation for our sins was the best news ever? It is not his birth that saves us but his death and resurrection. Of course, I know someone will point out the obvious, that he could not have saved us if he was not ever born. I am not saying his birth is unworthy of rejoicing, just that his miraculous birth should not have precedence over his death and resurrection.
s c from Oh writes: Dolores, you got that part right "... Some people have their man made traditions" Are you having fun celebrating them?
There is absolutely no reason for this antagonistic post. You have gone from simply exposing pagan traditions to that of a bully, imposing your beliefs on others. You have ranted ad nauseum about Christmas for days now, enoughs enough. If you disagree with how Delores handles Christmas, thats fine, but goading her is not Christlike.
I cant say I have a favorite verse, for there are just too many I am fond of, but if I had to narrow it down, I would pick Psalms chapter 1 though it is not just one verse but six.
Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 1:4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 1:5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 1:6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Its the Draconian Lizard men I tell you. They started the feminist movement so they can enslave the human race again. If you wear a tinfoil hat, youll actually be able to see whos really a lizard man, and whos not. Obama, the Pope, Billy Graham, anyone of stature, theyre all Draconian Lizard men. (Just kidding)
SteveR writes: Its all a clever plan to use masonic mind control orchestrated by Annunaki aliens from the planet Nibiru.
I use to work with a guy that believes in the Draconian lizard men in disguise from planet Nibru conspiracy. He was very good at mixing this nonsense with Scripture, and had half the shop believing in his heresy. Tony reminds me a lot of that guy.
If you want to see a true tin foil hat lunatic, look up a fellow named Johnathan Kleck. The co worker I made mention of espouses his beliefs.
I agree brother. To me, for one to attempt to fit evolution in the Bible, they must trust mans word over Gods, for they would be interpreting scripture with the presupposition that evolution is an established fact.
If I remember right, the creators of southpark were going to do an episode making fun of Mohammed, but they recieved so much backlash and death threats that they didnt air the episode.
I use to watch this show. After I got saved there was just no way I could continue watching it. I also use to watch southpark when I was younger, and they made fun of Jesus in like half their episodes. The reprobates can have their laughs, theyll be screaming for mercy in the end.
2 Peter 2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
