To Dr. Tim,
Dear sir, I have read many of your comments and it would appear that in many things we believe the same way. However there is at least one difference. Many of your comments are not at all intended to build up or encourage or even to provide innocent humor. They are intended to tear down and cause contention. (Prov.13:10a, Only by pride cometh contention,) I have a couple of points to make, not to tell you what to do or not to do, just to show you my view.
1. Standards are not the same as Biblical principles. See Romans 14:5 Some things in scripture are concrete sins,(murder, adultry) some are sins for me that may not be sins for others. (Watching documentaries, I had a real problem wasting time, so God convicted me not to watch documentaries.)That is a standard. My dress standards are given to me by the Holy Spirit and they are different then most people I know. Some have higher, some lower, standards than I do, and I fellowship with them the same. See Romans 14:1-3
2. No one else’s standards are your business unless the standards they have are causing you to sin or unless you are their pastor or in a position of authority over them. Romans14:3,4 and Romans 14:10-12
