No worries. I usually post under this name but was giving MichaelH a try. Even still, our names are similar at a first glance!

Australia is a nice country. I like living here but it can be an environmental challenge in some parts. If it isn't on fire, it's flooding (not near me though as I live in the suburbs and not the outer country area).

I used to watch The Simpsons too (which is quite clever with its humour).

Then I saw an episode where Homer became a priest over the Internet and started marrying homosexuals in his garage.

I told my youth leader how I disagreed with it and she challenged me to stop watching it. I was a new covert at the time and was wet behind the ears.

I haven't watched it as such since. I've seen a handful of episodes in the last 10 years but that's it.

This show is evil. They mock Jesus within the first few minutes of the first episode. It pretty much sets up the tone for the show.

The interesting part I find about these adverts is that it says "There PROBABLY is no God".

They can't say there is no God for sure.

Thanks. 181 now dead.

I know people who have had people lost or affected and know of a former youth group attender who has lost all.

Dandenong Ranges is coming under threat and I have many friends and some family there.

Pray for this nightmare to end please.

Brother in Christ,
Michael

From what I have seen in the betas of Windows 7, it is much better than Vista. Vista is garbage. 7 seems to be more responsive, however they will still need to put more features in for games and such, which is why I still use XP Pro!

Well, I agree that this has the potential to be a bad thing.

It will block out many things that will be legitimate and the filtering process will slow stuff down quite considerably, that is just the nature of the technology we use.

However, I believe they could use constantly updated blacklists to a much higher extent than we do already to achieve a similar result.

Truth be told, I felt rotten after seeing it and felt like a hypocrite in a way. There are very select shows I ever really watch on tv, and looking through my dvds, they primarily contain; star trek, stargate, thunderbirds, documentaries, home made railway dvds and so forth (most documentaries are on railways. I love trains). I have drawn the line whenever blasphemy is heavy on a tv show several times before and the amount of times that it gets assimilated into our culture. Kids in our teenage congregation blaspheme as if nothing is wrong with it. I just pray they wake up to the fact that it isn't right. I often pull them up and speak to them about language and it goes in one ear and out the other.

I have seen the simpsons movie. Though not as bad blasphemy wise as I thought it would be it wasn't pretty. I saw it with a group of other Christians, despite my convictions. I have been addicted to the simpsons for years and can quote so much of it, but after becoming a christian in 04 and more specifically since there was an episode where homer blasphemes the holy spirit regarding gay marriages, I have been trying to shake it. However the rest of my family watches it. Continued...

Why is it, that when I think of a healthy marriage, I think of "A chord of three strings isn't easily broken" from Ecclesiastes? If a wife and husband aren't prepared to lie together, then it doesn't sound like a healthy marriage to me. I reckon it is garbage.

Don't get me wrong, I love U2, in fact that is what I am listening to right now. I went to both their concerts, I reckon they are the best band in the world. However, I reckon they can be idolised, and their songs are no replacement for worship songs.

Al - I was bought up with the notion in mind that tongues is no longer around, however, it is very possible that God might give the gift of tongues to some people and I am willing to accept that as a possibility.

I was just saying, that amongst Christian denominations there is all this rubbish that divides them regarding tongues. If it is a God given gift, it is like any other gift from him. But in the church, we obsess over it - and I believe that the devil can use that to seperate us, sometimes, from our main goal which is to preach the gospel.

Peace
Michael

I have traditionally been taught the anti-tongues deal... That it is non existant now.

I am however prepared to accept the fact I might have been taught wrong.

However, I am going to ask you a few questions.

Does it matter?

Is debating it until, going to help you reach out to anyone who isn't saved?

Michael
