'There definitely is a God' most complained about poster
A total of 1,204 people complained that the Christian Party advert was offensive to atheists and could not be substantiated.
The ASA did not investigate the advert - a response to a British Humanist Association (BHA) poster reading: ''There is probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life'' - because political party campaigns are outside its remit.
How they hate that word *** but Romans 1:28 reveals "and even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient". Self destruct or what!

Many of the persons who complained about the advertisement, may have already been aware of "The Christian Party" policies. Two unpopular policies with voters are: "The Christian Party would end the “promotion” of homosexuality, ban abortion outright."
Given the Christian Party only secured 18,623 votes despite contesting about 70/650 constituencies it infers that their policies were also rejected at the ballot box by the vast majority of bible believing Christians in those 70 or so constituencies.
"Volkswagen produced the second most complained about ad, with 1,070 objections, for including graphic scenes of a man fighting his clones. The ASA partly upheld the complaints."
"HomePride took third place with 804 complaints for an oven cleaner ad reading: ''So easy, even a man can do it''. The ASA ruled that the ad was tongue-in-cheek and did not uphold the complaints that it was offensive."
These two examples of complaints demonstrate how rediculous and pedantic some people can get over a silly advert.

Our bodies are to be a "living sacrifice" unto The Lord, but sinful man uses his body to gratify his own lusts. We will not see God unless we are born again and are a new creation in Christ Jesus.
Seeing the advertisement for many who follow politics and the policies of each party in the UK, may be reminded that the way they are living is sinful. We are not able to be happy by not acknowledging our sin, but by confessing our sins, repenting and following The Lord Jesus. God removes our sin through Jesus' sacrifice.
I must be dense, since I cannot infer that from the bus ad at all. Do not assume that the public understands the term "Christian" as you & I do. Some people think being doused in water as a baby made them a Christian.
"If you wish to converse with me, define your terms" - attributed to Voltaire

For example, if God made the universe, but then abandoned it to operate on its own (as Deists thought), then there's nothing discomforting about that, for He takes no interest in the affairs of men. Or if God is going to save everybody (as Universalists teach), then what's to worry about?
Hi Neil, The context is referring to people who are uncomfortable, in line with the topic of the article. "The Christian Party" advertisement does infer God in the standard of expectation of moral code.
"It makes many people uncomfortable to notion that there is a God"
Not necessarily; it depends on what they believe about Him. For example, if God made the universe ex nihilo (w/o Darwinism), but then abandoned it to operate on its own (as Deists thought), then there's nothing necessarily discomforting about that, for there's no possibility of judgement. Or if God is going to save everybody (as Universalists teach), then no worries here either. To many people, God is a kindly old man with a beard (like Zeus?).
But none of these critical questions are addressed by the bus ad, nor can they be in that sort of space.
It makes many people uncomfortable to notion that there is a God. This because of their sin and the issue of accountability. There are those who would rather wallow in their sin than acknowledge there is a God, Who created people and all that is in the universe.
Evolution gives people the impression, that it is "survival of the fittest". And that there is no one to be accountable to: for their revelries, hatred, murders, sexual immoralities, greed, thefts, lies, etc.
To admit there is a God, a person must admit that there is a moral code they need to live by and the need to admit that they have fallen short of this moral code.
If a person has not told the truth, he is by definition a liar. If a person has stolen, he is by definition a thief and so on. People don't want to admit to themselves that they are liars, thieves, adulterers, etc.
They need acknowledge God and that they have sinned against Him. That Christ Jesus stood in their place to receive the punishment they deserved for their sins. They need not worry at this point, for Jesus who lovingly died for the remission of their sins, will be waiting for them with open arms.
Have those who composed this ad not read James 2:19? And while I would expect such shallow, stupid propaganda from atheists, Christians ought to know better.
