In my workplace many would say they are a christian but only about 40-50% of them attend church regularly. But what is interesting is that those who attend church regularly tend to be more liberal in their views of such things as Death Penalty, Divorce, Homosexulity, etc. This puzzled me for quite some time until I realized that those who don't attend regularly today did attend regularly at one time many years ago. I've discussed this with some of these once long ago attenders and they do not understand how those who call themselves christian and attend church regularly today could have such liberal views. i.e. so different from what they learned long ago.

The point is that men and women both have "opportunities" today they've not had before. i.e. a woman divorcing her husband. In history this is a very recent development and is especially interesting in light of the #'s showing women file twice as often as men. It's also not been too many years ago that if a man did not support his family they would go hungry and he would be ridiculed for his lack of support. Today men can bow out and let the wife or the government support the family.
Christian men and women are living in very different times then what our forefathers experienced......I would argue that it is harder for a man to lead today AND harder for a woman to submit then ever before.
#1 The truth is not being taught in the world, in the church, and at home.
#2 Teaching and standing for the truth is hard on those who stand and their families.
#3 Our society is unique in history in the role women play. i.e. many sources show that women file for divorce twice as often as men. Point being here that today, maybe more than ever before (?) we need strong families who will stand on the truth.
Texting is a force for evil as well as good ,Try working alongside someone who is constantly texting when they are supposed to be working, really tries the patience of a saint and is bad for the employer .Texting in church is showing a lack of reverence , might as well not bother coming to church.why not stay at home and play with an ipad . Call me old fashioned , but thats how I like it.

Read the Whole Bible on the subject. You may find out too late that you are on the wrong side.
Great Sermon! Super encouraging for a child of God. I love hearing about God's sovereignty. Complaining, in light of the fact that God is sovereign, isn't right. My situation or circumstance that encourages my complaining, God will work for good. That's his promise. Thank you pastor for preaching such pure truth. There are so many nuggets in this sermon that will encourage the righteous. Please listen to this and be encouraged!
Great Sermon! This is a good sermon for knowing the key to life, especially experiencing 'overcoming life'. Our ambition to 'know Him', has to be top priority over all other ambitions. Listen to this and pray for God to do this in us and in others who may be in difficulty. This is the secret to victory in this world. "Oh that I may know Him" and keep on doing so until the Day. Great preaching...thank you Lord.
Sounds like the same as what we do with singers and music. i.e. We rank music groups on charts of popularity and sales. Some even allow these groups to come in and sing and then sell to the congregation. I'm being sarcastic but what about a top 40 for preachers!
Mohler said, "....It's time for Christians to start thinking about how we're going to deal with that,"
I understand what Mohler is saying but at the same time I can't help but feel like he is saying the battle has been lost.
We have been granted the unique priviledge and responsiblity of living in a nation where the people rule. However, we do get the leaders we deserve so maybe Mohler is right. If we cannot stand for marriage in our own homes and churches then we might as well get ready.
Great Sermon! I bought this book and am on my second reading. This book and its message is a real life changer. Servants have the option to obey what master they choose and what work to do for a master. Not so a slave. A slave obeyed his Master irregardless of his person and whatever duty he was given. I am looking forward to John's messages on this and highly recommend you read the book. You will want to encourage all your family and friends with this.
We've reached the time in this country's downward spiral when those who wish to follow christian principles will be critized by those inside and outside the faith.
[AUTHOR]Kyle[/AUTHOR]Im curious about this new concern for private family decisions...
Don't tread on me by taking my $$ to fund someone else's abortion...don't take my $$ to fund someone's health care, education, etc
in other words to quote..."Government should not intrude on private family matters,"
Those who oppose the forced healthcare say it is not right to force one group to carry another's healthcare burden and they are correct. However, isn't it hypocritical to say that of healthcare and not say it of other areas such as education?
Why did this Dr perform these abortions? Why did these women have these procedures done? The scriptures teach that children are to be wanted, appreciated, desired. Most christians today do not want children, do not appreciate children, do not desire children. Christians today reject the blessings of children because of the same reasons this Dr and these women aborted these babies.
We know less about Obama then any president ever. He has refused to release kindergarden records, grade school records, college records, papers, travel history, etc. much less his birth certificate. Take these unknowns along with his stated positions on life and marriage and the course is clear.

So you began reading the Bible with the RSV then moved to the NIV and now you read the NASB? I assume you consider the NASB superiour to the other two? Just trying to understand where you're coming from.
Outstanding ! A call to Christians to wake up and see the big picture. And, quite frankly, to start living the faith they say they have and to answer the question "What is good?" as God would.
Does anyone in this discussion really feel like these publishers are cranking out all these new versions because they believe them to be superior to the version released the year before? Also, what of the copyright laws? For a "new" version to be copyrighted it has to be significantly different then all others....hmm?!?! Just these two issues make me very suspicious of any "new" versions.
