"Mankind, He has told you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God." (?Micah? ?6?:?8?)

"'In the end time there will be scoffers walking according to their own ungodly desires.' These people create divisions and are unbelievers, not having the Spirit." (?Jude? ?1?:?18-19?)

John Y, take note. We should be praying for God to do His will knowing we are in no way better than our fellow man, save the blood of Christ that HE shed for us, the faith HE imparts and the righteousness we receive FROM Him - through no work of our own LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST. Humility in speech is winsome and of great benefit to the kingdom of God. Your words show you to possess neither of those.

Mike and pennned, there are barter systems alive and well in many regions of the country. The problem is you have to be almost paranoid to keep things from drawing a governmental stink-eye. It only takes one busy body to take down a family who sells milk or eggs that aren't up to "government safety standards" (or the same busy body who just doesn't like their neighbor). I've seen it happen. However, where the system thrives, the people do, too! We like to "help our neighbors" and they reciprocate. It seems to keep everyone happy, for now. But, hey, I am also considered "unemployed" because I stay at home, live for my husband, raise our children and keep the household running smoothly (well, at least in theory, hahaha)!

We have lost the ability (and even desire I dare say) to be involved with anyone on a truly personal basis. I have nothing against social media when used properly, but neither am I sure what "used properly" means to others. As a busy wife and mother to five, I have such full days I don't see how women have time to hang around Facebook and get anything else done! I see them as mostly robbers of time - that time is unredeemable!

"Open my eyes so that I may contemplate wonderful things from Your instruction."
"Keep me from the way of deceit and graciously give me Your instruction."
"Turn my eyes from looking at what is worthless; give me life in Your ways."
"I thought about my ways and turned my steps back to Your decrees.
I hurried, not hesitating to keep Your commands."
"You are good, and You do what is good; teach me Your statutes."

Psalms 119:18, 29, 37, 59, 60, 68 HCSB

Pe(n to the x)ed, the proverbial "the worlds being flushed down the toilet" scenario... Well, we're done with the bowl and right into the sewer. The slide of humanity into depravity at every level is simply breath taking. We pray that as God gathers His people, those we know and love will be gathered with us! Some days it seems you cannot take a breath without some new crisis, but I take heart in knowing these things are all under the careful, watchful eye of Him who is in complete control. I have never more in my life meant "Give us this day our daily bread... For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever!" as I do now days!

"Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body." (Heb 13:3). I doubt she is out of danger; these terrorist groups are relentless in their pursuit (Isis anyone?). Her family will most assuredly need continued prayers! But God has allowed them to be together - what joy!

Our little guy is all but little and never stay's in one spot! And sometimes he's "played with" too much by the two-year old! We're all well & keeping our noses to the path God's leading us on! Busy, busy season of life - as you we'll know!

pennned - (mornin'!) it would also do people good to notice that the carrieres of our current vaccination are/were a wheat based product. And all the peanut allergies everyone seems to have nowadays? Our newer shots use a peanut derivative! There's a link, not hard to see. We are setting ourselves up for a failure to thrive from birth!

SF - praying all is well with you! Lovin' that "semi-new" baby? All's well with her? When I read this sisters story, however long it's been, I thought of what I would do in her place... May God grant us all the strength to serve Him first and foremost at any and all costs! My loves goes out to you and your family!

Christopher, this busy season in my life has had me refocus all of my attention on home life, as it should be, but I wanted to let ya know we keep you and many others here in our prayers!

Who's accuracy? PCUSA? Catholics? Morman's? Episcopalians? I think "Really" summed up my sentiments best: ROTFL.

This made me nauseous. Remember a long while back an article where a group of satanists wanted to place a statue of a goat-man near the capital building of that state? The statue included two young children, smiling happily at his knee which has always been, symbolically, the place of learning.

The curtain has been pulled back - Christians parents, God is good, holy and righteous! What does a Christian have anything to do with the government education system? I keeping thinking of the verse "It is said: Do not test the Lord your God.” (Luke 4:12 HCSB). God is obviously handing them over to depraved minds; we should be as far from it as humanly possible.

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy name, and by thy name cast out demons, and by thy name do many mighty works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:21-23)

GS, a knowledgable sermon "Misconceptions on Headcovering" by a Dr. Richard Bacon here on SA. My husband and I studied 1 Corinth. 11 at length several years ago now and heard every comment why women were not to wear a covering in corporate worship. This sermon helped us sort through this topic using nothing but Scripture and is a great reason why I now were a covering while in church.

You are quite right that if this was talking about actual hair as the covering then any man with a shred of hair on his head is in direct defiance of God's will. Yet, it is true, a woman's hair is given to her as her glory - which is EXACTLY why it is to be covered during corporate worship: it is her outward acknowledgment that she accepts God's hierarchy, the one Eve tried to usurp, and gives God all due respect. It also beautifully functions to let my husband know I respect him and the position God has entrusted to him. "But if anyone wants to argue about this, we have no other custom, nor do the churches of God. (1 Corinth 11:16). This verse simply means that this is the end of the discussion. Paul has spent 16 verses explaining himself and leaves it as the final word. Hope this might help!

Ohhhhh... The story is even MORE interesting, in case someone was wondering:

"the school board’s official statement. Read carefully:

'The School District policies IGE, IJ, IJA, KEC (available on the school district website) refer to the procedures for the use of novels containing controversial material. The district will take immediate action to revise these policies to include notification that requires parents to accept controversial materials rather than to opt out. Furthermore, the notification will detail more specifically the controversial material.'"

Catch that? "requires parents to accept controversial materials..." At what point does the prey realize it has been caught and is being devoured?

Anne, of course you are right!

penny, you've said it before and now we see, so very quickly, the fruit of this rotten tree producing exactly what we all expected!

Moreover, WHY do parents send their kids to places where the parent obviously has zero control over what their kids see/read/do?! The parent cows to the school board eventually as if they "just have no other choice". Indoctrination from a government entity - call it what it is.

"Be serious! Be alert! Your adversary the Devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour. Resist him and be firm in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are being experienced by your fellow believers throughout the world." (1 Peter 5:8-9)

Parents need to get their children out of those cesspools called public schools. Teaching them at home is best.

They have been a living example of God's merciful "peace that passeth undestanding". Your prayers will be a great blessing as they deal with the grief of losing part of their hearts. Thank you! God will be glorified!

“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on the rock." (Matt. 7:24-25)

The rain has fallen on my dear friends but I know their faith in a greater God is carrying them through this time of immense loss and grief. Let it be said of us then, "Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep." (Rom.12:15) for "Those who mourn are blessed, for they will be comforted." (Matt. 5:4)

And should you be feeling the weight of life today...

"All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves." (Matt 11:29)

"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13)

Take heart, take hope, He is mighty to save!

"So they took the bull that he gave them, prepared it, and called on the name of Baal from morning until noon, saying, “Baal, answer us! ” But there was no sound; no one answered. Then they danced, hobbling around the altar they had made." (1 Kings 18:26)

Couldn't help but think of Hillary and her "glimps" of "Christian faith" when I read this!
