Frank, that is precisely where she struggles the most. That and trying to show respect to her husband when the kids ask her questions about why Dad believes one thing and she doesn't anymore. It's just a mess. I have no doubt that God will use this for His glory, she knows this too, but it's the gory battle she lives in right now.

Frank, I've been keeping your health in my prayers, too. God will always sustain us through the toughest of trials! Take heart and persever!

Dorcas, I often read through SA's news and comments but, honestly, it's near the end of my day and by that point I pray for many posters but don't have it in me to comment.

My neighbor is showing the amazing strength God only can provide. She watches her husband tear at her through the kids - oh, the manipulation - but returns it with grace. Actually, it's me who's been blessed! I can offer her little more than prayer; but isn't that everything!

What I love best about God's written word is that one might take a single verse, say Romans 12:2, and at different places on the path of our life it touches our spiritual needs differently each time - same verse, but loaded down with more wisdom, grace, reproof, compassion and guidance than a lifetime of reflection could completely uncover. And yet it is a bulwark of unshakable truth that never changes with culture or seasons. He truly is "I Am". And He is AMAZING!

I had a favorite verse growing up, but when I got married, I found another. Fifteen years and seven kids later, I have a whole bunch that remind me of my duties and Christ's provisions for me. I would venture to guess as I continue, I will find many more favorite verses.
"Open my eyes so that I may contemplate wonderful things from Your instruction. I am a stranger on earth; do not hide Your commands from me. I am continually overcome with longing for Your judgments. Your decrees are my delight and my counselors." (?Pslm 199:18-20, 24)

Dorcas, All's well here! Keeping busy. The neighbor acquaintance of mine who rejected the RCC but her husband has not has been essentially forced to "live out on the rooftop". It's become, strange, for lack of a better word. We continue to pray for her husband who is really angry about it all; it's effecting the children terribly.

"We know that the law is not meant for a righteous person, but for the lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinful, for the unholy and irreverent, for those who kill their fathers and mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral and homosexuals, for kidnappers, liars, perjurers, and for WHATEVER ELSE IS CONTRARY TO THE SOUND TEACHING BASED ON THE GLORIOUS GOSPEL OF THE BLESSED GOD, which was entrusted to me" (?1 Tim ?1?:?9-11?)

But for the grace of God, many will wish, but all will bow, John.

Dorcas, hi there sister! Praying all is well and keeping that grandson of yours in our prayers!

Kevin Swanson is in that neck of the woods and a better friend for Christian homeschoolers could not be asked for. Many prayers for him, his family and church as they continue to work in the state of Colorado. (What happened to Colorado? They used to be a conservative state. Boulder. Ugh - slime has a way of never staying in the gutter.)

Phillipians 1:12-20

So sending crates of Bibles: "What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice." (?verse 18?). Most definitely not my cup of tea (lol! no pun intended) and it seems to me Frank is right about the "prayers of saints which avail much". And yet who knows what God might cause to happen in the "peripheral view"!

pennned - yup; they were able to do this in a southern province of Germany about 15 years ago. Worked like a charm! You can own Bibles, but most congregants use state "approved" texts.

Quite right pennned! But it doesn't fit in with the plan... You know full well the forces that are bending and swaying and contorting things. It doesn't frustrate me anymore simply because, apart from prayer (and that IS everything) there isn't a single stinkin' thing I can do about it; like trying to mop up the ocean with a paper towel. Instead, I pray for the safety and keeping of our friends and loved one's, pray that God's name will be vindicated and pray that His return is quick to come! Too many sheeple, too many wolves, too many narsassistic selfies, too many eyes closed! But God has already overcome and His plan is unfolding right before our eyes! Wow! Front row seats for us! Eyes opened wide, prayers should be continually going forward - dear sister, what a time we live in!!

Dorcas, you and so many others here remain in my prayers! I look forward to the day (looking like it's sooner than later) when we will praise our Lord side by side, no longer running the race but, by the grace of God and blood of Christ, receiving the rewards He has promised! What a glorious conclusion to God's great plan for a fallen world!

Great comments! The view we see when we travel and go into a church are men who are effeminate or "not there" and indifferent to who's coming in and out. And the guys in this article throw the pendulum clear to another realm! Real men are tough and strong, love their wives for better or worse, shed repentant tears over their sins and cry when they hold their babies. What spurs a real man on is whatever spurs God on. They live to bring HIM glory, not prove they are macho. May God bless our REAL men and help them stand strong!

Dorcas, my prayers go up for you, your dear husband and the prodigal in your life; you family, especially your parents are always included! I have a feeling you aren't taking a break to relax; may God sustain you with His power, for when we are weak, He is strong. Be weak sister, and let His light shine all the stronger. God keep you!

Busy, busy season Lady Virtue! While I try to pop in now and again, I just have a lot on my plate; and happily so!

I would also encourage those women who are stressed under the weight of their work, dinner doesn't have to be extravagant, it needs to be nourishing to the soul ("man does not live on bread alone") and body (give us this day our daily bread). If you are stressed about these things, go to God - HE is the Giver and is pleased to give! We all have seasons where life can be stressful, but I would encourage you to take those times to the feet of Him who loves you most and ask Him for wisdom to correctly prioritize and skillfully use whatever you have (be it meager or much) to serve the kingdom in your four walls and bring glory to God. Christ has blessed you with your family and will not just leave it at that; His mercies are new every morning and His strength never fails.

Now that I've stopped laughing... "Therefore, I want younger women to marry, have children, manage their households, and give the adversary no opportunity to accuse us." (?1 Tim? ?5?:?14?)

Maybe, as others have already said, we women have our fingers into more than we can (or, dare say, should) handle. Would that these "stressed out women" allow God's straightforward and realistic command to guide their lives! Unprofitable Servant could have concluded by saying: "Anything apart from our narsasistic desires is stressful!" I would encourage these women to embrace the role God gave them and stop fighting Him, for "[His] yoke is easy and [His] burden is light." (?Matt 11:30)

Barry - you and your wife are doing an awesome job! Keep it up! We pray for your family every day!

Oh, this is far more insidious than a sibling relationship. This evil mans heart overflowed with his true goal. He said: "If this was the 1950s and you had a jury of 12 men there, which is what you'd invariably have, they would say it's unnatural for a man to be interested in another man or a man being interested in a boy. Those things have gone."

He wants little boys and girls. He's nothing short of a monster. Not a surprise - these types needed to successfully break down marriage between a man and a woman first - which they've done through the homosexual route - and now they want what they were after. There is no bottom to the depth of this kind of sexual depravity.

John UK, the word in question is "chesed" in Hebrew. Look it up because, indeed, one of them is a poorer interpretation than the other. I will not banter back and forth about KJV-only because the God we both serve will guide us into truth through His Spirit. The conversation only brings God down to a humans understanding leaving Him no space but what we prescribe to Him. Again, if He needs me to read only from the KJV I have no doubt He will let me know in no uncertain terms. Until then, He continues to allow me to use those versions which honor Him and do not malign His glory for a shadow of an instance - this case included.

John, I was quoting from the Word of God, actually. I don't exclusively use the "authorized version" for the same reason I do not exclusively sing Psalms. The version I used was Holman Christian Standard Bible, by the way. God has moved mightily in the lives of my husband, myself and our children, revealing Himself through His words from that Book on a multiple-daily basis and caused us to stand in awe of His works toward sinners, such as myself. I do hope you are not suggesting ones relationship is not built on a rock solid foundation if one does not use the KJV. It is between God and the individual and should God be displeased with their Bible selection, I have no doubt He will move in that persons life and bring them to where He wants them. However, instead of praying for my conversion to the KJV, maybe you could ask God to simply give me more grace to run the race I am in! It is what I pray for you and a few others on this board each day. "Now to Him who is able to protect you from stumbling and to make you stand in the presence of His glory, blameless and with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority before all time, now and forever. Amen." (?Jude? ?1?:?24-25? HCSB)

Dorcas, hello dear sister! I
