God superintends the growth of the opposition Neighbors and observers divide over the healed man's identity (8-9) Neighbors and observers question the healed man (10-12) The Pharisees divide as they question the healed man (13-17) The man's parents place him at risk during questioning (18-23) God superintends the growth of faith in the healed man The healed man boldly testifies to neighbors & observers (9b-12) The healed man boldly testifies to the Pharisees (17) Applications Opposition to the Gospel is God-superintended. Faith in the Gospel is also God-superintended. When God works, He overcomes all barriers to accomplish His purpose.
