What are some of the greatest needs you have today in your life? Some might say, “I need a new vehicle, a bigger house, more money. Some might think about the need for water, food, and adequate clothing. Some might speak of a need for a real friend, a family, or a cure for some sickness.” These are all needs that we are familiar with and work towards having all the time, but there is a greater need. There is a need in the heart of man to find an end to an endless pursuit. There is a need for satisfaction, contentment, peace, forgiveness, love, mercy, grace, and connection. One writer said there was a God-sized hole in the soul of every man. How could we attain to a relationship with the Creator? How much money would it take to purchase freedom, the joy of love, and forgiveness? The Bible teaches us that these needs can’t be purchased. There are many things that money cannot buy. They are priceless. They are free.
When it comes to salvation, it is free as well. I have heard many testimonies throughout my years of people who said they didn’t have a penny in their pocket and very little to their name. However, they became rich as they called on the name of the Lord for salvation. Salvation is free to all who call on the name of the Lord! |
