The historic, Apostolic Church was wonderfully faithful to the Holy Scriptures. Their view was that the Scriptures were the inerrant Word of God and was without question the authoritative standard for all doctrine and life. They viewed the Scriptures apostolically, that is to say, in light of the teachings of Christ and the Apostles. Their view of the Old Testament was rooted in New Testament thinking rather than according to the Hebraic fashion of apostate Judaism. This interpretative approach was coherent with all Scripture and was termed “The Apostolic Tradition.”
