Jim, maybe it isn't about whether the teachers are conservative. Maybe it isn't about their Christianity, or lack thereof. Public means government. Government means government information and goals. Our government is not Christian in its worldview and will not therefore supply kids with any biblical "building up". These conservative teachers may not teach their classes outside of supplied materials. So we struggle! Is there somewhere in the Bible where we are to expect Easy Street, or where our lives shouldn't call for sacrifices? Aren't these "rewards from God" worth more than material things? I know you'll say yes, but you're saying in the same breath that we might have to struggle so it isn't worth it... Struggle is good for us and our kids. Your last two comments reveal to me you probably don't have kids. Yes, parents have great influence over their kids but they have to BE there to act on that. Why do teens rebel? Why do they dress like their peers and listen to music their parents don't? A typical day for a government school kid is school, home, parent(s) get home, dinner, homework, TV, bed. An hour of semi-involved parent time makes up for the hours a day with godless cirriculum, transgender student bodies, homosexual cheerleaders and socialist propagan |

Jim, so you believe there are areas of our life in which religion does not play a part? A child can then go to a government school for over 7 hours a day, Monday through Friday, not be tai anything about the word of God, (quite the opposite - they will be tau education is separate from Christ) and this in no way posses a problem for them...?The money aspect you bring up is one of the poorest excuses for not homeschooling one can pose. We homeschool our five kids on one income. I make decent money but we have nothing left over. We cut costs everywhere but are happy, content, fed and sleep comfortably because we realize it all comes from God and He gives us just enough today. We don't have toys, we don't have what some would call luxuries, but we make achrist the center of our family and our day. In government school, which I grew up in, by the way, it was not so. |

Basic answer I bless God for Ken Ham. He and AiG are doing a great job. We use their material. And yes what Ken says is true. Our kids are quiting church because they are not being taught the truth of creation and the authority of Scripture. But let us never forget, our kids quit church because they were never born again. This is what needs to be preached. Kids quit churches that believe in creation. But they will never quit church if they are converted and believe in Christ. Let's go back to the old gospel. To the old truths of the necessity and marks of true religion. "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Do you know the basic reason why your kids will quit church? They were never born from above.
