Illinois Republican Senator Mark Kirk announced via his blog Tuesday that he supports civil marriages for homosexual couples.
In his blog he says "When I climbed the Capitol steps in January, I promised myself that I would return to the Senate with an open mind and greater respect for others. Same-sex couples should have the right to civil marriage. Our time on this Earth is limited, I know that better than most. Life comes down to who you love and who loves you back-- government has no place in the middle."
Senator Kirk's statement neglects to say that his open mind and new respect for perversion is really disrespect of God and Christianity....
The media now says that people that say anything against homosexuality are "homophobes". This nation has turned away from God and each day it seems like it is getting worse. We as Christians need to be an example of Jesus Christ to all those around us. People need to see the love of Jesus, they need to see holiness not just hear words! May we all be doers of the word! God bless!
Sen. Kirk has long been known as a liberal. The IL GOP is to blame for putting this man in office, as well running weak-kneed candidates for other positions. Frankly, I think the Church in Illinois is also to blame for campaigning and voting for Republican candidates. May God forgive me for my past efforts which included handing out campaign lit for George Ryan (R) who turned out to be a criminal. There really isn't a dimes worth of difference between the Dem's and Repub's.
Mohler telegraphed the Christian complicity in SSM on his blog this week referring to "homosexual acts or their heterosexual counterparts." Whatever these "heterosexual counterparts" are, perhaps Kirk is aware of and has practiced them. Engaging in these "counterparts" alone unwittingly unlocks the door for an evolving Senator (Kirk), an evolving President (Obama) or even an evolving Pastor (Rob Bell) to become a liberal and embrace same-sex marriage.
SSM has its etiology in the last half-century steeped in Christian marriage superstition.
