Reply to Michmanda Michmanda,
Thank you so much for your response. Do you think the generosity of your office is exceptional or do you think most medical offices do this?
Reply to Tanya Greetings, Tanya, and thanks for stopping in. I have the very same temptation of which I speak in the podcast each morning when I choose between personal devotions and sermon/lesson preparation. So I, like you, have much repentance to seek in this area.
Reply to Micahel Michael,
Thanks for stopping in and listening. I loved the book of Job as I preached through it. Those messages are also available on SermonAudio.
Reply to Alfred You give too much credit to the Papal church. If we have no saved men of God, then we have no church at all. We may as well be Mormons if we can look at an entire era and say "nobody believed."
Furthermore, if we cannot say that, then must admit there were many who believed the Bible to be Holy-otherly-sinless-inerrant.
Reply to MS Maybe you're right and this is nothing more than state-sponsored nonsense...but I believe Christ is bigger than that assumption.
By the way, church polity and customs--be they charismatic (women preachers) or catholic (crucifix) in their origins--are not nearly as important as the fundamentals of the faith.
Reply to Brent Brent,
Thanks for commenting. I want to caution you about deciding what's fair outside of the dictates of Scripture. Asking "how it is fair that Christ was punished for someone's sin yet they still go to Hell" is going from Biblical Theology to Systematic Theology--where we interpolate far more than we exegete. I would encourage you to consider a key point. If you cannot tell a sinner Christ paid for their sin then you have no Gospel to preach to them.
Reply to Preceding 3 Comments Thanks to each of you, friend.
Sometimes in our desire to "renounce hidden things of shame/dishonesty" (2 Corinthians 4:2), we force ourselves to be transparent. God only knows and imparts to us by His grace and through His Spirit how to do this.
Response to MS Thanks for stopping in. Yes, this is certainly circus-like. It's not like we have tons of reputation money to spend with an already cynical and skeptical world.
