In this servant section of Isaiah, God reaffirms His intention to redeem a people for His name in spite of Judah's stubborn rebellion and love of idolatry.
God had originally saved this people out of Egypt and brought them to the land He prepared for them. Yet they failed to love and serve Him. They reverted to idols and in this, they seemed to frustrate God's purpose to restore His kingdom. However, the Lord explains that He will do what He planned all along and get glory to His name.
He will do this in the true Israel, His Son and in the New Covenant. There will be a remnant out of Israel that He will call to Himself.
