Great Sermon! and I made an error. Ah, the verses of the Bible I quoted were from 2 Peter not 1 Peter. in my first note. Para. I should make this message as long as my first, though I won't; but I will point out that Gil went into detail about the European Union in this message, and gave a very good idea about the various events concerning the EU preceding the start of the Tribulation. He also explained it is not Mother Nature, but Father God Who is responsible for all weather beneficial or destructive. Para. Gil's sermons are not like most sermons from a mainline preacher, who thinks the congregation can only handle three concepts in a sermon, but has a higher opinion of us as a congregation, and so he believes we can handle more than that. So, usually the space allotted for even an official summary is not nearly enough for most of Gil's sermons. Sorry about my error on the Scripture verses, I am getting new glasses ;-)

Acts of God using Nature and Man As Gil pointed out, we look forward to Christ's return which He has promised. As Christians we look forward to that with anticipation, and this anticipation seems to peak around the New Year. To the world it's a cycle of meaningless hopes and promises, but for us, it's to be an ongoing expectation. We of all people shouldn't allow this expectation to become time worn. Para. 1 Peter 3: 2 to be mindful of the words spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of the Lord and Saviour by your apostles; 3 knowing this first, that there shall come at the close of the days mockers with mocking, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for from the time the fathers fell asleep all things remain thus from the beginning of the creation. 5 For this is hidden from them through their own wilfulness, that heavens were of old, and an earth, having its subsistence out of water and in water, by the word of God, 6 through which waters the then world, deluged with water, perished. 7 But the present heavens and the earth by his word are laid up in store, kept for fire unto a day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.---Darby V. Para. Judgement is real and sure and the future isn't bright for the unbeliever. Note! Acts of God!
