'Pro-life evangelicals for Biden' is a monumental ethical failure
In my years as a seminary professor of ethics (Knox Theological Seminary, 2000–2008), I saw few things more sinister and devious than the seemingly innocuous statement, “a biblically shaped commitment to the sanctity of human life compels us to a consistent ethic of life that affirms the sanctity of human life from beginning to end.”

That’s not because life isn’t sacred from beginning to end, but because those who use it do so consistently to hide serious ethical confusion.

Recently a group calling itself “Pro-Life Evangelicals for Biden,” spearheaded by long-time leaders of the evangelical Left Ronald Sider and Richard Mouw, released a statement that begins, “As pro-life evangelicals, we disagree with Vice President Biden and the Democratic platform on the issue of abortion. But we believe a Biblically shaped commitment to the sanctity of human life compels us to a consistent ethic of life that ...

Though Joe Biden is a much more personable, morally acceptable person than Trump, I think the article just doesn't recognize how inspirational Trump was to many of us to vote for Biden

I would almost guarantee that that is one reason that many of the Catholics in the Omaha Congressional district voted for Biden.

Ms Harper was only 14 years old when she became a Christian, and not allowed to vote yet. But in 1984, she tried to convince her mum to vote for the Republican presidential candidate Ronald Reagan.

"There was no way she was going to do that," Ms Harper said.

"She was part of the civil rights movement, and she understood something I really did not understand then — the religious right actually came to be as a counter movement to the gains of people of colour."
How would Jesus vote?

Ms Harper is voting for Democrats up and down the ticket in the 2020 US election, starting with Biden-Harris.

"I am a black evangelical, and that makes all the difference," she said.

"The way that I vote is not ruled by white men; it's ruled by Jesus, who was a brown, colonised, Indigenous man."....

I'm really amazed by the quality of some of the religious articles on the Australian broadcasting corporation system, this is a good one.

Some non-White evangelicals or White evangelicals for that matter are voting the right way for the wrong reasons but so be it.👍

The much vaunted ObamaCare also required all employers who used health insurance for their employees, to cover abortion, contraception, and “family planning”, as well as transgender treatment. Christian churches, schools, and individual employers were required to provide this in the health insurance. Thankfully, the courts have actually gone against their usual grain, and there have been instances where they have ruled against this. Biden and Harris (particularly the latter, as she is a militant supporter of Planned Parenthood, and all it stands for), will codify this in federal law, will squash the state’s if they go against this, and will pack the Supreme Court and lower federal courts with many leftist activist judges who will, if necessary defy your Constitution and write their own pro-abortion laws on the bench, and strike down anything pro-life that comes before them. If Biden and Harris win, it will be suspiciously like the northern kingdom of Israel, when it was ruled by a wicked but weak king, (Ahab), and a even more wicked and manipulative queen, (Jezebel), and the false religion of Baal was the state religion!!

Absolutely right, Brother Frank! How little people who espouse the Marxist agenda understand that they will not be the ones in charge nor will they obtain what they seek through that political, societal system. They will be delivered into bondage.

How quickly those reminders of life in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe are erased from the memories of our society.

It reminds me of when Israel asked for a king from Samuel. Unhappy with the Lord as their king individually as well as corporately, the people longed to be like those around them. While the Lord obviously worked through this arrangement to bring the King of Kings, the request was formed in sin.

The demand that the state take on the role of the church has been around for a while. The PRC is a good example of what that looks like when it has come to fruition.

Being anti-abortion, without supporting universal health Care is hypocrisy and an ethical failure
Being against abortion and homosexual marriage are the only two issues that matter when voting because supporting abortion and homosexual marriage is an attack on the traditional family that God instituted.

Jim, by Biblical standards, you have a incorrect idea of ethics if you truly meant what you said.

Many Catholics support anti-abortion because it fits in with their belief of Immaculate Deception. Pity however, most people even will assume even for those who are actually anti-abortion are just using it as a ploy for racism, so people better come out with at least a support for universal health Care, which of course does not mean support for abortion. It seems like Obamacare actually avoided support for abortion.
Facts just have no place in the left wing, do they, Jim? Since Planned Not Parenthood “serves” black women with abortions, and historically for the purpose of diminishing black population, who is it but Democrat abortion cheerleaders who are the racists? And yes Obamacare provides funding for the killings. Or to put it Jim style, it seems like Obamacare actually supports abortion.

Here's Kamala Harris joining forces with Planned Parenthood, promoting them and meeting with them, and sending officials into the home of the man who had exposed PP for selling baby parts. Yes, Kamala ordered this man to be brought down for what he exposed. The Demoncrats love murdering babies- don't miss this video- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOh7ltZ9VY0&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR0pRQDZABxmNE3Q9G1B1Zbe7PYp_MVFmeQaKTMkIHRKkZipPyQ0XwXYUI0
It is excellent, exposing Harris for the evil demonic person she is, and her tyrannical ways in dealing with what she opposes.

This one should be a new one for me ❗

Randall Balmer wrote:

Peter Wehner, an evangelical, attributes Trump’s popularity to evangelicals’ sense of powerlessness, while Michael Cromartie of the right-wing Ethics and Public Policy Center thinks that support for Trump represents a setback from what he characterizes as the more elevated tone of religious-right leaders in recent years. Jeff Sharlet suggests that Trump resembles a prosperity preacher.

These analyses, however, miss a crucial point: The religious right was never about the advancement of biblical values. The modern, politically conservative evangelical movement we know is a movement rooted in the perpetuation of racial segregation, and its affiliation with the hard-right fringes of the conservative movement in the late 1970s produced a mutant form of evangelicalism inconsistent with the best traditions of evangelicalism itself. Since then, evangelicals have embraced increasingly secular positions divorced from any biblical grounding, and supporting Donald Trump represents the logical conclusion of that tragic aberration....

Revelation 2:9 - I know thy works and tribulation and poverty (but thou art rich), and I know the blasphemy of them that say they are Jews and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

They can identify and call themselves pro-life all they want, but the Lord who has eyes like a flame of fire see their hypocrisy. Times of testing like these will reveal and divide the professors of Christ from the confessors of Christ.

Being anti-abortion, without supporting universal health Care is hypocrisy and an ethical failure
Abortion is my number one issue and that does not remotely make me a hypocrite. We can harm someone and make amends, but we cannot murder someone and make amends with them. I believe that universal healthcare will simply give women an extra incentive to murder their unborn children.

Christians do not support or promote abortions. Your arguments have no spiritual value.

"When the life of the mother is truly threatened by her pregnancy, if both lives cannot simultaneously be saved, then saving the mother’s life must be the primary aim. If through our careful treatment of the mother’s illness the pre-born patient inadvertently dies or is injured, this is tragic and, if unintentional, is not unethical and is consistent with the pro-life ethic. But the intentional killing of an unborn baby by abortion is never necessary."
