4-year-old twins excape car crash and climb embankment to find help
Twin 4-year-old girls managed to escape through the broken rear window of a wrecked sedan, climb a steep forest slope in the dark and find a passerby for help after they were in a crash that killed their father Friday night on a winding Whidbey Island road, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Corey Simmons, a 47-year-old Langley man, was killed when the Nissan Sentra he was driving hurtled off Bob Galbreath Road at about 6 p.m. Friday, traveling at least 100 feet into a ravine and striking multiple trees before it came to a halt.

To The Quiet Christian: A big amen for your thoughts, compassion and sympathy for those precious little ones. Very sad tragedy and my heart, as well, goes out to them and the rest of the family and friends of the Corey Simmons family. Very tragic! Very sad.
May the Lord bless these girls with Himself, seeing as they have lost their earthly father. May He comfort their souls and minds. May He prevent them from feeling guilty for not being able to help their dad in time. May He be with them.
Terribly tragic story. What's interesting is the parallels between little children and their parents compared with us and our Heavenly Father. We think we have it all together. The Lord knows better. We think We're so helpful. The Lord knows better. We think we can work miracles. The Lord knows better. He is the One who sees everything accomplished and in due time, but we want credit. We're ultimately just as effective as these poor girls in this horrible tragedy. Praise the Lord that He is with us - Immanuel.
