Rise in Suicide Among Kids and Teens After Netflix Drama
Suicide is at a 19-year-high among kids ages 10 to 17, and some are suggesting it's tied to the release of the Netflix drama "13 Reasons Why" which showed a girl ending her life.

Researchers admit they cannot prove the connection, but they do say there were 195 more youth suicides than would have been expected in the nine months after the show came out in March 2017.

The lead author of the findings, Jeff Bridge at Nationwide Children's Hospital, says the creators of the series intentionally portrayed the suicide of the main character with a very graphic depiction of her death. He says seeing that alone can trigger suicidal behavior. ...

News media does not like to use the word 'suicide' On today's local TV news, they reported that a person--suspected to have murdered someone--was dead from a 'self-inflicted shooting'

This tv show is evil and inaccurate. It gave the girl in the show a voice, a voice to express herself, and gives her an opinion. But the reality is people who commit suicide don’t have a voice and can no longer have an opinion. And the people you leave behind have no answers. The show contradicts reality. Sad.

Douglas, you're totally right about social media making it worse. I believe it's because cyber friends cannot connect with you on a personal scale, and share thoughts, feelings, grief, ect. It (can) brings disconnection from society and withdrawal from people.

This shows you why the police, hospitals, etc have an informal arrangement with the news media to not report suicides.

Besides, when someone throws themselves in front of a train, who can tell if they were pushed or jumped? So reporting it as a suicide right from the start would be inaccurate.

(Not that being accurate has anything to do with the news today, when anything negative about President Donald A. Trump is brought out and exclaimed.)

Later, though, once the Official Police Investigation is complete, they still will not air it on the 11pm nightly news, 'another man committed suicide by throwing himself in front of Train A or Train B three months ago' And you won't see it in the newspaper, either.

I don't know if Hollywood had this same agreement, but with this show, it apparently has been broken.

Bottom line: many people around us are on the verge of killing themselves. They may appear 'normal' or 'nice' but be hiding behind financial problems (for example) that they won't share with you.

Even a high-powered lawyer, rich, young and head of the local bar association in southern Florida killed himself and people were going around wondering why why why?

You would think Social Media would help--all those friends, right? But I've heard it makes things w

Kids are our first mission field, shame on us if we don't evangelize them at their early age.

Teach them that the word of God is the foundation of the christian faith, and that it is perfect, real, and not imaginary, and they can hold on to it and read; its the KJV.

Yes, Gay. Remember the 144,000–every last one of whom will be a Jew. If I were you, I would think twice about poking my dirty finger in the apple of God’s eye.

it was called "Death Training Your children" it has since been relegated to the dreaded "dark web" where indeed there are drug dealers, hired assassins, human traffickers, and the sick and twisted, this is also where the truth tellers are sent so no one can find them. Well there was a website called Death Training Your children where they explained how things like sex ED were engineered to create more teen pregnancies, alcohol and drug avoidance to create teen addicts with drivers ED to get them into cars to die, and all of these were successful they had the actuary tables, charts and graphs to prove an increase and then they started death ED in some schools with the associated rise in teen suicide, people got wise and they stopped death ED and it looks like some are still pumping out this filth, we should boycott netflix, is it jewish owned? when trump closed down congress to "build the wall" lol, they passed all kinds of draconian laws against any business who would boycott Israel.the whore of babylon is israel its the jews, they were first betrothed to Jesus they cheated on their Husband first, now who are the daughters of this WHORE? they are filthier than even HER !
also remember the 144 thousand, there will be new babes in Christ fleeing as soon as they see the abomination

Isn’t that “ it girl “, Selena-Gomez an executive producer of that show? Seems she always shows up, looking pretty but lacking talent, goes to the nervous hospital to get over her problems and starts all over again. Hey I’m all for nervous hospitals and even nervous medicine. But if your in and out of psychiatric care facilities, it might be best to sit out making TV shows on how to kil yourself and blame folks for your decision afterwards.

"13 Reasons Why" aside, shame on this nation for throwing its children to the wolves, and leaving them exposed to things their eyes should never see, and their ears, never hear. Parents mourn a child who takes their own life, and a nation acts bewildered over the rise in teen, and preteen suicides, when they are the reason, and indirect cause of most of them.

Kids are so impressionable and malleable. They need responsible adults to guide and protect them from the evils of a foul world, but instead of protecting them; instead of taking them by the hand, and guiding them through the evil forest to teach them, and point out why they need to remain on the path thats safe, they're simply dropped off, and told to find their own way. They walk down all sorts of paths as they navigate through the evil forest, and are confronted by all sorts of monsters and villians who tempt and confuse them with no adults there to protect them, and scare the evil away. The kids emerge from the evil forest, dazed, confused, depressed, and empty. They don't know how to process or handle all they had been exposed to, can't distinguish the lies from the truth, and no longer feel like they belong, or have any future or worth, so death becomes the answer, and their releif.

Shame on the adults.

This is a sad fact, but the saddest thing is that suicide does not end the anguish. That is a lie of evolutionists, who will not acknowledge that 'after death, the judgment'. What actually happens is....

....out of the frying pan into the fire.

"Prepare to meet thy God".
