Sarah Palin, Loyal Running Mate, Excluded from John McCain’s Funeral

Breitbart News has independently confirmed an earlier report in People magazine, which reported that Palin was not sent an invitation, and was told through intermediaries to stay away from the ceremony.

McCain fundraiser Carla Eudy confirmed to People that Palin had not been invited — possibly, People speculated, at the behest of the McCain family.

The news comes on the tenth anniversary of the date in 2008 when Palin was announced as McCain’s pick for Vice President.

I was looking around why Sarah Palin was not invited to John McCain's various funeral memorials. I think the Frontline program will give you a feel for why she wasn't. It will also give you a balanced view of McCain, which will not be all that flattering. It is good investigative reporting. It is a 54 minute long video, so get comfortable.

For people from other countries who check into SermonAudio, this will give you something of a unvarnished look at American politics.

It should be a popular video. It made almost everybody look bad❗ Newt Gingrich and Barack Obama come out fairly unscathed, Sarah Palin didn't.

ABC News Online wrote:
President Donald Trump was noticeably absent at Senator John McCain's funeral Saturday in Washington, D.C., but apparent digs at the senator’s recent antagonist were not.

In a thinly veiled shot at Trump, one of McCain's daughters, Meghan McCain, said in her emotional eulogy, "We gather here to mourn the passing of American greatness. The real thing, not cheap rhetoric from men who will never come near the sacrifice he gave so willingly, nor the opportunistic appropriation of those who lived lives of comfort and privilege while he suffered and served."

Meghan McCain, a co-host of ABC's "The View," added, "The America of John McCain has no need to be made great again because America was always great."...

I don't mind the subtle digs that the Don got, but really? various news media kept pointing the out the absence of Trump, that actually shows a good point for him. He did what the family asked; he stayed away from the funeral ❗👍

I can support trump and respect him, however, that does Bly mean we need to support some evil things he does. For example; I fully support Trumps Pro-life agenda.

Great points CGP! You are certainly correct about the next set of Democrats being true radicals. Trump is in evey way exactly what the liberals despise the most. Literally every single aspect of his personality, policies, and personal life is antithetical to theirs. That being said, I think D. J. Trump is gonna get the boot in 2020 and be replaced by one of these radical socialists. The USA you described may be a lot closer than any sane person would like to think. Right now we're just above the water line.

Sorry as a Britisher to chip in, but I fear that Jim Lincoln is so eager to get rid of President Trump, which of course the organised Left are feverishly seeking to do by fair means or foul, he seems to forget that at the next Presidential election, and even sooner at the Senate and Congress elections coming up in November, the Democrat candidates, or at least most of them, are hard line Socialists of the Senator Bernie Sanders type, and will make even the terrible Hilary Clinton look tame!!

How will he face a USA where transgenderism, LGBT and Islam are protected and even enforced by law, without any protection for Christians, where unlimited Islamic immigration is the rule, abortion and euthanasia on demand is the norm, homeschoolers and genuine evangelical Christian schools and colleges are closed down, and Bible studies are routinely banned under strange “zoning” laws. Does he really want this??

Don't forget God's warning Jim....

So, Tim, when are you publicly going to come out against supporting Trump, which is the Christian thing to do?

Jessica Taylor wrote:
... fervent support from evangelicals may have come at a cost, Mansfield argues, as they overlooked actions that could be taken as antithetical to their faith, including comments about women and race. There have been growing racial and generational divisions within the church, Mansfield says, and Trump's election seems to have brought some of those simmering tensions to the surface, putting evangelicalism at a potential crossroads....
... But a lot of those public leaders were very outspoken for him. Never did we hear anyone say publicly, "Sir, you're making racist statements, sir, when you say that a Mexican judge can't rule justly in a case involving you, you know, you've crossed the line." Never did we hear those religious conservatives who supported him speak out about these race issues....

Jim, here's a "link" for you: Blessed [that means happy, which you obviously are not] is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly [that would be most of the people you quote], nor standeth in the way of sinners [which is precisely where you stand on many issues], nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful [that would be your desk chair, Jim, the one with all the holes in it from the ever-dripping acid of your incessant bitterness].
But his delight is in the law of the Lord [that's the Bible, Jim, not Internet], and in his law [God's Word, not the words of George Will or some other political writer] doth he meditate day and night.
I won't bother setting forth the promises in the next verse. You don't qualify for them anyway.

...Her gaffes [Palin's] were quaint by Trumpian standards, but she had little grasp of policy, accused Obama of “palling around with terrorists” and paved the way for a grievance-fuelled, celebrity-driven politics, later appearing in a reality TV show and as a pundit on Fox News.

McCain came to realise that it was a terrible mistake.... he made a last confession. He said he regretted not choosing then senator Joe Lieberman, a Democrat turned independent, as his running mate. “I should have said: ‘Look, Joe Lieberman is my best friend, we should take him.’ But I was persuaded by my political advisers it would be harmful, and that was another mistake that I made.”

Jeff Flake, McCain’s Republican colleague from Arizona, told the Guardian: “He regrets not going with his instinct on that, which would have been Lieberman. I don’t know if it would have made the difference in that election but the Palinisation of politics kind of started there. It hasn’t been the best for the Republican party, I will say, but I don’t think he could have known. She was more a symptom of it than anything else.”

I believe I read in another article that Senator McCain arranged his own funeral.

So far he has arranged to strike out from the grave in anger/retaliation at Trump, Putin and now his former VP running mate Sarah Palin.

The bible says to not let the sun set on your anger but McCain took it with him to his grave. What a shame to go to the grave a bitter man. At least the Palin family responded graciously to his insult from the grave.

If I chose a woman other than my wife to be an extremely close confidant and partner, I would stand in great danger of being divorced. My sense is that the McCain family was none too pleased to see husband and father running off with some other woman.

I always just assumed that he picked Palin simply because she was a female and was considered an evangelical and McCain thought he needed those two sectors to have a chance. I do remember that was the only election that I didn’t vote in because she was on the ticket and my understanding is there were literally millions that thought like I did.

I wouldn’t invite a bit bull with lipstick or a momma grizzly to his funeral either!
