Mexicans opted for change, and turned their backs on the only two parties to have run the country in modern times.
“We need a complete transformation,” said Sergio Oceransky, 45, as he voted at a polling station in central Mexico City. “We’re experiencing a tremendous political crisis that’s no longer sustainable.”
On the campaign trail, voters cited plenty of reasons to kick out the governing class. Many said physical security was their top concern. A decade-long war on drug cartels has pushed the murder rate to record levels....
Thanks Dr Tim. Right back at ya. I never had a problem dwelling on the fall of Vicksburg. More so dwelling on loosing Gettysburg. But oh well, I guess its over now. Tommorow when I am eating my Oppossum Burger and drinking that sweet pink lemonade. I'll contemplate on how we could've won.🍔
I miss the good old days when trolling was done to catch crappie. Speaking of possum burgers, have a great Fourth of July, JAG--and try not to ruin it by dwelling on the fall of Vicksburg. We finally got 'er back.
Dr Tim says... I have literally dozens of medals, awards and commendations
I remember you telling me about some of them. Like your blue ribbon "International Goat Cart Competition". The "best Oppossum Burger" award. Oh, and the runner up award on the "Guess the SA trolls show".🏆🏆🏆
Right, 1517--and Hitler was nominated for a Nobel Prize in 1939. I have literally dozens of medals, awards and commendations, and I never even look at them; they are dung (Philippians 3:8). The only prizes that will matter in eternity will be those awarded at the judgment seat of Christ. Jim, I am not that Judge, but my sense is that you won't need a lot of help carrying yours.
Jim Lincoln, You clearly missed the point. What Pulitzer winning George Will and David Brooks disregard is the conservative wishlist being accimplished by this ogre of a man. We are on the precipice of having a SCOTUS which may FINALLY end the Molech idolatrous murdering of babies. But, who cares? Right Jim? We should focus on how Trump is a monster and George Will won a Pulitzer’s. Good Grief, Obama won a Nobel...
1517 and Timmy, no one mistake Donald]]"an ignorant, amoral, dishonest and manipulative, misogynistic, philandering, hyper-litigious, isolationist, protectionist blowhard"Trump for an intellectual.
Oh, and I will point out that George Will is a Pulitzer prize-winning writer
"May you live in interesting times" has come true for Mexico. Few people know how bad conditions are in Mexico, so the people were ready to vote for any change. Of course, as Christians we know Zech 4:6 "Not by might nor by power, but by Thy Spirit" so whatever happens in Mexico, God will have a lot to do with it.
Jiminy Clickit can't do anything BUT cut and paste, 1517. He's never had an idea that germinated inside his own cranium, so all he can do is trot out his pollywannacracker reiterations of pinko drivel.
Powerful Drug Cartels, extensive Roman Catholicism and now a Leftist Government. This should completely remove all hope!!
Mark 10:42 But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. 43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: 44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all."
Jim Lincoln, Cut and paste comments from pseudo-conservatives and intellectuals such as David Brooks and George Will holds little water relative to truth. These are the same people who have sat in ivory towers waxing fluently of Conservative principles, the permanent things, and reduction of government. But when their ideals are put to action and accomplished, they reveal their true selves and begin to complain of decorum over results. You’re nothing more than a duck and dive liberal thinly masked as a Christian. You continually spout how Christians should not be politicians but then speak from the other side of your mouth propagating the filth myths of the Left. Do us and yourself a favor and just take the mask clean off and personally defend your indefensible positions without the facade and barrage of Leftist propaganda.
Tim, the writer said Trump is embracing the new leader not that she was in particular. Both Obrador and Trump have been said to be populist. They may both get along for that reason--but Obrador has rejected the Wall very forcefully.
He has had practical governmental experience by being the mayor of Mexico City. So he may have some common sense ideas.
David Brooks wrote: The Republican Party I grew up with admired excellence. It admired intellectual excellence (Milton Friedman, William F. Buckley), moral excellence (John Paul II, Natan Sharansky) and excellent leaders (James Baker, Jeane Kirkpatrick). Populism abandoned all that — and had to by its very nature. Excellence is hierarchical. Excellence requires work, time, experience and talent. Populism doesn’t believe in hierarchy. Populism doesn’t demand the effort required to understand the best that has been thought and said. Populism celebrates the quick slogan, the impulsive slash, the easy ignorant assertion. Populism is blind to mastery and embraces mediocrity.

President Trump has predetermined to work with the new Mexican president-elect who was selected by the people to become president. Reminds me of the time God selected the faithful for salvation and they became the elect of God. Mr. Obrador asked to become president just like we must ask to be saved.
Reconsqesta is what the worst case can happen. A Mexican government is socialist by nature. But you put a Communist in as President of Mexico and we ain’t see nothing on the realms of an immigration problem. Why even Yankees will be affected by watching how the western governors are establishing and have enacted a state guard to counter the invasion of the Mexican army to expand the southern border to include the western states. But why do you need a state guard, because a Democratic President and Congress would not protect the good people of the South western states of the USA. Keep that in mind, because by 2020, the state of Mexico will implode and spill North.
Sinclair looks "very much forward to working with" the new Mexican president, as if the leader of a sovereign nation and a two-bit journalist will be walking arm-in-arm into the future. The difference between you and Don Quixote, Jim, is that at least there was something noble about Quixote's delusional fantasies.
