Professor draws ire for saying students will have to work hard and avoid drinking
UK’s Cambridge University physical sciences professor came under fire this week from mental health campaigners and students after he suggested undergraduates will have to work hard and abstain from drinking to pass the course.
Eugene Terentjev draw the fury of students and mental health activists after sending out an email last week to first-year natural sciences undergraduates at Cambridge, telling them the course will be difficult and thus they should refrain from drinking and other social activities if they wish to succeed, according to an email leaked to student-run publication Varsity.
“Physical sciences is a VERY hard subject, which will require ALL of your attention and your FULL brain capacity (and for a large fraction of you, even that will not be quite enough),” Terentjev wrote to the students....
""after he suggested undergraduates will have to work hard and abstain from drinking to pass the course.""
He is correct. This is exactly what student life is like.
BTW:- The UK university system has been dumbed down in recent decades to allow access by the lesser ability people. This is a politically correct vote catcher for politicians. The long term effect is that our intellectual and scientific community will not be as smart as they used to be. And of course industry will refuse to accept them.
This is just another authority which suffers today because of the rejection of God and christianity through satanic Liberalism.
Good for that professor. Why would that professor. Why would that professor have come under fire for stating that undergraduate students would have to work hard and abstain from consumption of alcoholic beverages in order to successfully pass the course?
That's the kind of attitude every professor and administrator ought to have, but surely this strikes at enrollment for those more interested in partying than learning. Of course, for those in social science majors like political science, there isn't a lot of definition so drunkness and laziness is just preparation for political careers.
If self-controll u require Don't get angry - re: "ire" Use yer power to perspire- To Better things you can aspire Than drunken wallow in the mire Profs risk cultural crossfire Brave Truth tellers to admire!
God forbid that these slothful, sluggish, staggering sots should be exposed to the writings of men such as Benjamin Franklin or Horace Greeley, or have to read the exhortations to be industriousness and sobriety found in such books as McGuffey's readers or--dare I name it?--the Holy Bible.
