Church severs ties with Scouts after 68 years
A Southern Baptist congregation in Georgia that has sponsored a Boy Scout troop for 68 years is one of many that already have decided to part ways with the iconic youth organization after its national council decided to allow boys who identify as homosexual to join their ranks.

Ernest Easley, senior pastor of Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta, Ga., northwest of Atlanta, told WND his church’s decision to sever sponsorship of Troop 204 must be seen in the larger context of the moral decay of civil institutions in America.

‚ÄúThe church is going to be forced to take more of these stands in the days to come,‚ÄĚ he said. ‚ÄúThe Boy Scouts issue is a minor one compared to some of the decisions and stands that churches are going to be forced to take,‚ÄĚ the pastor said. ...

thanks to Pastor Easley for his leadership and thoughts regarding the severing of ties and ongoing choices that have to be made.

let the fathers bring the sons back into community and take them out, teach them outdoors and show them how to use the land..... the land is where health comes from, as ordained by God.

They can evangelize them in public school. Trying reforms from inside an organization which is going downhill never works, It's like saying to these Baptists maybe they should become Methodists so they can make that church more conservative. This is a good commentary on the error of that thinking, ]]Staying in Hope of Changing the Church (PDF).

I would wonder how good of arena the BSA was in the last decades as an evangelistic conduit? It was fine especially when it taught and espoused morality, but that in itself ignores ]]The Inadequacy of Moralism

Would have expected the SBC to resolve that every church sponsor at least one BSA troop. Imagine 160,000 SBC troops alone evangelizing millions of lost and disordered boys. When you turn inward and only offer AWANA or Royal Rangers your salt has lost its flavor.

"church’s decision to sever sponsorship of Troop 204 must be seen in the larger context of the moral decay of civil institutions in America."

A true fact of modern life in the western nations. Abortion, the murder of babies and homosexuality are significant of the moral decline in the nations today. The poison of Liberalism being the virus which diseases the societies and institutions today.

Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
