Nurse suspended after offering to pray for patient’s recovery
A Baptist community nurse has been suspended after she offered to pray for the recovery of an elderly patient during a home visit.

Caroline Petrie, from Weston Super Mare, says she had offered to pray for the patient after applying dressings to her legs but the offer was refused and she did not push the matter any further, reports the BBC.

"The woman mentioned it to the sister who did her dressing the following day. She said that she wasn't offended but was concerned that someone else might be,” she was quoted as saying by the BBC. ...

"She said that she wasn't offended but was concerned that someone else might be,” (from the article)

The world is crazy and the lunatics are running the asylum. For starters, since when is anyone promised to not be offended. Depending on a person's upbringing, attitude, or what they had for lunch that day they may be offended by anything and everything. I find that "gay pride" celebrations are highly offensive. I don't see anyone bending over backward to put and end to them. This patient was not offended but some where out in Puddingshire there may be one crabby athiest that might get offended by an offer of prayer, so we better suspend the nurse without pay. That patient, even though not personally offended, should bring a lawsuit against any greeting card company that manufactures 'get well soon' cards. What is a wish for someone's continued well-being if it is not a prayer? A wish and a prayer are at least cousins if they are not the same thing. Eventually we will not be able to talk to anyone about anything for fear of them or someone within ear shot becoming offended.

My God, I am so shocked to discover these revelations!. If the NHS condones all these oriental mumbo jumbo all in the name of alternative medicine, who knows if they haven't also adopted African voodoo/ black magic which involves witchcraft and human/animal sacrifice as an alternative to orthodox medicine.God help us.

It's interesting how the National Health Service has embraced alternative medicine listing all of these and many others on their website but are unwilling to allow a christian health professional to pray for a consenting adult patient; acupuncture, music therapy, art therapy, feng shui, crystal therapy, yoga therapy, thought field therapy, shiatsu, reiki, reflexology, herbalism, flower therapy, and countless others. The power of prayer is well documented by non believing scientists with many medical papers written on the subject. I hope this ladies Lawyer takes them to the cleaners! Prior to the NHS in this country most of the Hospitals were founded and funded by Christian organisations. ]]

I was utterly and unspeakably aghast when i read about the unfair suspension of a baptist nurse who offered to pray for a sick elderly patient out of sheer love and empathy. My question is where did she wrong? She didn't impose her beliefs on the patient and from what i can deduce , it looks as if people in the UK have become so Godless and haters of Christ. Who knows, may be that elderly patient may soon die and get into eternity in a christless state. Sometimes, i wonder why true believers are hated with such magnitude, Moslems in the NHS Trust, can afford to pray for up to 6times a day besides these guys spend up to 30mins or more in each prayer session yet the NHS trust has turned a blind eye to the huge cost disadvantage it poses. Furthermore, they always separate themselves and paste stickers of their religion wherever they can and yet no one utters a word. This is grossly unfair. I trust the Lord Jesus will be her strength.

"Mrs Petrie, 45, was suspended without pay on 17 December following a complaint from the patient to the North Somerset Primary Care Trust."

Whats interesting about events such as this is the direction in which things seem to be going. The increase in these anti-Christian incidents is growing and that suggests the struggle is getting more intense. The mind set or zeitgeist of the age is demonstrating Satan's influence is being allowed to increase.
Trying times for the Church.
