I don't know how the comments about Hillary and Obama got into this line of comments since the article is about the young people rejecting marriage as "needed"[sic].
At any rate, I agree with "Breathtaking's" take on this issue. It's part of a cultural descent into oblivion and the paths of hell. When you know people who are living together, tell them with a gentle and tender manner that they should take the step into marriage. It's important to God. It's important for social order. It's important for the spiritual growth of the individuals involved. The first of the three, by itself, is a complete reason to get marriage. The other two points are, so to speak, "bonuses" for those who marry.
The change Hiaary and Obama stand for is out with Bush, in with them. That's just the beginning, then higher taxes for more welfare progs, more government and wealth redistribution, more more more. I remind all of a quote from Hillary a couple months ago, "I HAVE SO MANY IDEAS FOR THIS COUNTRY, BUT THE COUNTRY CAN'T AFFORD THEM." That is not the change we need, thank you very much.

In the political realm and, sad to say, often in the religious arena it is a game of give and take. Give and take is a juvenile phrase for compromise. Many give in here and take liberties there.
However, my topic today deals with God’s giving and our taking. He has given us eternal life , and we squander our days taking advantage of His grace. He give grace, and we take license to indulge in self will. He gives help, and we wander down dangerous roads we have no business traveling. He gives guidance, and we go our own way, unwilling to inquire at His compass. He gives sustenance, and we spend our inherited, spiritual wealth in riotous living and careless choices. He gives a purpose and reason for living, and we lazily wile away our lives in activity. God in grace has said, “I love you, you belong to Me” and we selfishly say, “I want my own way, I’ve got to be me.” He truly is the Giver, and we are the ungrateful taker of all that He provides.
Remember dear reader, “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, , and in your spirit, which are Gods.” (1 Cor. 6:20). BB 1/2/06

This is just another testament to our failure as watchmen at the gate...
TRUE RELIGION has been replaced by "ReLiGiOn" (men and their denominationally twisted ideas of TRUTH ----- TRUTH redefined) --- and so we are seeing the fruit of our puny FAITH --- we have majored on the minors and minored on the majors...

We as a people have lost all sense of SHAME, MODESTY, MORAL UPRIGHTNESS, INNOCENCE, FIDELITY, etc - etc - etc...
We are a people who have lost our VISION OF TRUTH (GOD'S VISION)...
We are a people who have no concept of THE TRUE FEAR OF GOD...
And we wonder why so much is going wrong in America --- "We The People", "We" are what is wrong...
When the *majority* who KNOW WHAT IS RIGHT cease to STAND UP FOR WHAT IS MORALLY GOOD AND TRUE and making their voices HEARD --- well, this produces the perfect breeding ground for every hell-bent lamebrained idea that comes down the pike...

Sodomy accepted and legalised. Murder of babies in the womb is rife. Idolatrous religions are imported and accepted. Scripture is rejected. Evolution is taught over creation. Authority of God, Christ and the Bible is becomming irrelevant in western society. = Anarchy?? etc etc etc.
And half the young adults don't know what marriage is really about? Wow!!!

Marriage certificates are not about "love", they are about government certification/recognition that a marriage (joining of a man and a woman by God) has taken place. God working through government, which he has established to protect/support the married couple and their family, is ultimately the one who "marries" them. Anything else is just fornication.
It sounds to me like these people who say "marriage is not needed..." simply want to be their OWN government and their own god.
