To Eat or Not to Eat? Doctrine of Demons: Don't Eat That Food! ‘1 Timothy 4:1-5 teaches us that when religious teachers tell us not to eat certain foods (to obtain some sort of purity), such teaching is not harmless. Paul calls this a doctrine of demons and says that some, by listening to such teaching, have wandered away from the faith. Yet today we have popular "Christian" https://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=51710233142 5 sermon series worth hearing above ‘So many people are worried about cholesterol, fat and sugar. The Bible does not teach us to be on guard against bad nutrition. On the contrary, it teaches that God made all foods, and that all foods are good. The real problem is not what we eat, but how much we eat. Gluttony is the problem’. To Eat or Not to Eat? Is Nutrition the New Health and Wealth Gospel? Christians are not immune to the fads of the world. In the midst of this climate, experts have emerged to tell us what the Bible says about good nutrition and eating right, and have promised great things to those who follow a "biblical diet." But have they accurately represented the Bible? It is my conviction they have not. What has God commanded concerning food? https://www.sermonaudio.com/source_prodinfo.asp?PID=ne526120221 |

Many cessationists were previously continuationists; if you are 'churched' in a Pentecostal charismatic background you will rarely be challenged to examine the evidence, BUT the Lord does intervene! The argument between continuationist and cessationist is pretty straightforward. Examine the fruit. Look at the Giants of the faith throughout Church history and see which are continuationist or cessasionist. Same today. Who are the ones promoting fakery and quackery? Spurgeon said the miraculous gifts of the apostolic age (the gifts of tongues, prophecy, and healing) had passed away shortly after the first century. Why did he not evidence the miraculous gifts or see such in the tens of thousands of conversions? That should make even the most adamant continuationist 'pause'. Check out Pulpit and Pen online and examine the modern day Charismatics and even those who are claimed to be champion defenders of continuationism like Michael Brown. How do they fail to see the obvious. If we destroy our bodies through tobacco or alcohol abuse the damage isn't of course due to diet. 'Clean living' is now the new thing promoted by various new age health gurus in the daily newspaper; (Buddhist) vegan; occasionally even cultic in their promotion of so called 'pure' foods. No one disputes a healthy diet is biblical! A change of diet will be good for our physical health if we are eating processed 'garbage'! What I dispute is charlatans like George Malkmus: The "Hallelujah Diet" Is Heresy Reverend George Malkmus is a false teacher promoting an extreme vegetarianism that is altogether contrary to the Bible. George Malkmus, a self-proclaimed reverend, turned wild vegetarian ideas into a mass-marketing business to prey on gullible Christians. He sells juicers, distillers, supplements, books, and gimmicks to fleece the simple. http://www.letgodbetrue.com/bible/heresies/hallelujah-diet.php False statements about Barley Green supplement https://www.quackwatch.org/11Ind/malkmus.html Fruit juice is not as nutritious as fresh fruit, so all we need is fruit and veg in our diet and no need for barley green supplements or a juicer! My parents are in their 80's and never touched any juice, so go figure if I should promote their diet |
