May God keep you Dear Pastor Joe, may our LORD be with you and your family and may His love and presence be more real and full at this time than at any other. You and your messages are much appreciated.
Great Sermon! As always Pastor Joe your message is God's Word which is a 2-edged sword that penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow.... I needed it. Many thanks for it. I am now in Nigeria a veritable Hell on earth and your messages give me Light, admonishment, and encouragement not to run back to London where I've lived all my life. Please do pray that God's Gospel and His Spirit would come to this Dark and so godless nation (Nigeria) where prosperity churches, and sorcery with human sacrifice abound, and the people know nothing about REPENTANCE.
Care needed Scripture tells us that God used slavery as a punishment when a nation's collective sins became too gross. But some of the enslaved would be God's own eg Daniel, so within slavery, restraint needed to be shown by slave masters. Humans are born free and that's what God intended. I am a British citizen with Nigerian ancestry and for the past 3 years am doing development work in Nigeria. The culture there is cruel and consists of daily HUMAN SACRIFICE even among those who claim Christianity, and the version of Christianity among Nigerians would be unrecognizable to those in the West. When you see how Nigerians lack respect for Black life, you may understand why God would use enslavement to punish such a people. Human sacrifice is worse than horrific (aka "ritual killing" in Nigeria). Please google it and pray for Nigeria (and Africa) that human sacrifice and sorcery, prevalent EVERYWHERE would stop. I have not met a true Christian in Nigeria, neither have I heard the true Gospel there. Everyone though describes himself as "born again", yet the level of malice greed and envy is unprecedented. Please kindly pray that God would send His Gospel to this Dark land, and that human sacrifice and sorcery will be STOPPED, once and for all. Thank you.
Nno ( = welcome in Igbo)! I am Nigerian but born and brought up abroad. In a few weeks I shall finally leave the West after 50 years and head home to Africa (Nigeria) where my heart is calling me. Funny enough, I began to listen to Rev Voddie and Rev Mbewe at about the same time, 4/5 years ago. I prayed God would somehow send you both (at least for visits) to Nigeria - when I am there! Who knows, perhaps He will! (PS in Lagos there is the Sovereign Grace Bible church and once I'm home I can see how Providentially you and Rev Mbewe can visit my country perhaps through Rev Tony Okoroh and Rev Femi Sonuga-Oye). Nno!
Great Sermon! I have been listening to Pastor Joe for some 3 years and you speak the truth! Our Lord has used you to instruct me several times at key points in my life, and He has done so again with this great message. I am returning to Nigeria next April after decades living in Europe and I pray God will open a door for me to help extend your messages/ministry there. Thank you yet again for your faithfulness, and God bless you.
Great Sermon! This sermon was spot on about the darkness that is in so many African so called churches. I have been listening to Rev Mbewe for some 2 years and he speaks the truth - because he cares! I shall soon return to my country Nigeria where there is both great moral darkness and Christian darkness. I plead with Rev Mbewe to consider coming to us too. I shall work on this when I return to Nigeria. All who read this, please pray for Nigeria - that God would have mercy and send us the true Gospel.
Great Sermon! Thank you for this message. I am going through a very hard time at work, and although the accusations against me are false, being the sinner that I am, I provided some ammunition against myself. My situation is described in Psalm 64. I appreciate and am grateful for this message, plus to GOD who led me to it.
Encouraging message! Each time GOD proves faithful in giving me His Word when I need it. I had been despairing lately but this message has reminded me of the God whom I have to do and how He is in charge of my life, and of every life. I also did a google search to find Spurgeon's wonderful message, which was part of this sermon "There is no getting at our God sometimes because of the multitude of our friends..." and it has also blessed me. Thank you.
