Some of the comments on the actual article broke my heart. One guy claimed that religion should be made illegal. Really? And I hate the fact that people's perceptions of God have been screwed up because of bad experiences on the part of people who might be Christian, but come off as someone lacking compassion, judgmental, hypocritical, etc. It really breaks my heart, and I hope these people could get connected with people who really live the life they sing about. I hope that I can be one of those people, rather than a Pharisee.
has anyone seen the comments below the actual article. Disgusting, ignorant of what Christianity is about (i.e, confusing it with Catholicism) and sad. I rather not indulge my pride my getting into a cyberfight over all this, though, so I will keep my comments for that sight to myself. BUT, contrary to one of those comments, stating what you believe is not being ignorant of another religion, particularly Buddhism, for GOODNESS' sake!!
"Christianity...the religion that legitimized their slavery".
Ain't they got it backwards? The Bible doesn't advocate slavery, the Quran does! That's why Arabs have been so deeply involved in slavery IN AFRICA for centuries before any Europeans set foot in Africa.
This is a problem. You can't preach half of Jesus and expect homosexuals to be saved while continuing to live that lifestyle. That's akin to corrupting the message entirely.
