Great Sermon! We need more honest sermons like this.
Genuine Christians know God has kept His hand on all 12 tribes of Israel and that He will establish them in the land He promised them because His Word prevails.
Needed Sermon I'd been wondering about this for a few days. This sermon then arrived in the email subscription... good timing. Thank you for answering this important question. I had become somewhat weaker by being constantly careful and "testing the spirits" as the Apostle John wrote. This was leading me to become overly cautious to the extreme and becoming suspicious regarding works of the Holy Spirit. This talk brought me back to equilibrium. I prayed for forgiveness for becoming so overly cautious. Great sermon Dr Cairns!
Needed Sermon In today's world this important message is rarely heard. The sermon is an excellent fine tuning in my relationship to our wonderful Lord who gave His life for us. Thank you immensely for delving into James' words, breaking it down so well and making it so very clear to understand. Valuable insight!
Well said It is not that some people have not heard about God. Rather, the problem is that they have rejected what they have heard and what is readily seen in nature. Deuteronomy 4:29 proclaims, “But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.” This verse teaches an important principle—everyone who truly seeks after God will find Him. If a person truly desires to know God, God will make Himself known.
The problem is “there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God” (Romans 3:11). People reject the knowledge of God that is present in nature and in their own hearts, and instead decide to worship a “god” of their own creation. It is foolish to debate the fairness of God sending someone to hell who never had the opportunity to hear the gospel of Christ. People are responsible to God for what God has already revealed to them. The Bible says that people reject this knowledge, and therefore God is just in condemning them to hell.
If we assume that those who never hear the gospel are granted mercy from God, we will run into a terrible problem. If people who never hear the gospel are saved, it is logical that we should make sure no one ever hears the gospel. The worst thing we could do would be to share the gosp
Wonderful Testimony Rev Mercer,
Thank you for sharing your testimony. It is valuable listening and helpful in understanding the Lord further.
I give thanks to the Lord for calling you to His service. I've been searching and searching for a while for a preacher that doesn't make me feel 'stressed' or 'bored' as I listen, since each preacher has a style. I would pray to the Lord saying "there is no preacher or church that I feel happy to listen to or attend". The Lord then lead me to your sermons. Your preaching is perfect. God bless you and your family.
Please consider... Dear Pastor Hoggard,
Please consider letting the peals of laughter following your remark, give you reason to think twice about making another racist joke along the lines of 'looking for your Kenyan son in law in the dark'.
It was demeaning and a stumbling block.
Thank you for permitting me to make this comment.
Mr. Chapman, I believe you could find hundreds if not thousands of Pastors who would strongly denounce ALL papal acts against Christ (such as offering up the daily sacrifice of mass as justification for sins). A quick search on this website alone yields numerous sermons on this very topic. No matter how illustrious a man may be in his organization, if he starts to slide into heresy (Mr. Shoemaker), it is a Christ-obeying Pastor’s duty to rebuke him. Again, I commend Mr. O’Neal for his stand here, despite it costing him the FGBC’s censure. It’s obvious to me the lawsuit was a convenient excuse to oust O’Neal for his Christ-honoring standards now distasteful to ecumenical groups. This happens all the time in compromised organizations. Additionally, our faith should never be the product of group think. We should aim to please Christ alone. Remember Noah? How many supported his ark building? And if I practiced DARING people to do something, I might dare you to name one leader in Noah’s day that supported him.
It is disgusting to me that Mr. Howell would publish his revoking your credentials on an atheist site like The Wartburg Watch and Spritual Sounding. I've looked at your blog on what Julieanne Smith did and can't believe pastors didn't stick together against such evil. Mr. Howell should be ashamed of his work there.
Risdon wrote: "Hillary Clinton said religious and cultural beliefs are standing in the way of homosexual human rights worldwide." Love thy neighbour is to tell them God's Word and law on the subject. Clearly Hillary and the Obama administration do not practice "Love thy neighbour." Bible states Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. 23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. 24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: I wonder if the Democrats will seek to legitimize beastiality next?
No. They love and protect their animals. Children? Not so much.
Great Sermon! Hello,
Just listened to this sermon. I agree with all you said. It does bring one thing to mind for me, which is 1 Cor.7:15
I'm curious about that verse. It sounds like if an unbeliever leaves, and you cannot stop them...it says the "believing" man or woman is not bound in such circumstances..
What about if the spouse who leaves is a proclaiming Christian, couldn't you say that they are not or they would follow God's commands.
Also, in the verses about allowing divorce due to adultery, what would you say to the verse (Matt.5:27) when Jesus talks about looking lustfully at another has already committed adultery?
This stuff can go on and on with digging into different verses.
My personal ideas are believing in forgiveness. I think that both people are probably not living up to what they should be in the marriage if adultery occurs too. (1 Cor. chpt. 7)
Some people look for loop holes.
Thanks for a very great sermon! I enjoy listening to many of your sermons and they've helped me grow a lot.
