There is no system in place to disciple Baptist churches. They are self governing with no oversight from anyone. I could be an ordained Baptist minister within the month. All you have to do is find a tiny church that struggles to keep a pastor, tell them you feel you are being called to the ministry, preach a couple of weeks and they can vote to ORDAIN you a minister. Presto. Now to say I was raised Baptist and know hundreds of true believers, faithful,godly men and women in the Baptist faith. Just pointing out that they leave the door wide open for wolves. My mom's church just got rid of a habitual adulterer who mentioned from the pulpit his wife had a dancers pole in their bedroom. In one sermon he enlightened everyone that Joseph couldn't wait to be with Mary because she was "hot". Any outcry was squashed because "the church was growing by leaps and bounds". He was only canned after being caught red handed with other women in the growing church. Baptist should look into the Presbyterian form of government, of which I am now ????.
