Questions For Premillennialists

“ Great Sermon! ”
John 5: 28-29, there is only one physical resurrection of everyone. Your question assumes there is two. John5: 25 is a spiritual birth/resurrection. John 3 there is only one new birth. And yes everyone will get a body. Why even ask that question? I believe the issue is how many physical resurrections and when do they occur. I now lean to one and at the end of this age, at Christ's 2d coming. How many judgments are there? I say there is only one, at the end of this age, at Christ's 2d coming. Who will enter the Kingdom? I say only those chosen from the foundation of the world. I hope I answer your questions, I tried to as best as I can.

I will refer you to some one much smarter than myself. Kim Riddlebarger, Mongerism.com. Check out His Amillennialism 101 series. Very good, very good. I can't explain it as well he can. I am sure you are well aware of the main points I was trying make. It is nothing new. Mr. Riddlebarger is a former pre-trib/dispenasatonalist and pre-mil.

Two births physical and spiritual, two deaths spiritual and physical. There also is two resurrections, spiritual and physical and they are separated by an undetermined period of time. The physical or bodily resurrection or general resurrection is for everyone on the last day. The spiritual resurrection is John 3:3-6, that is when we enter the kingdom God. So the event after the 1000 yrs. or the last day is the general resurrection. No, only the believers in Christ are born again. I don't understand the last question.

I have only been studying scripture for about 6 yrs. The first 4 I lean heavily on presuppositions. Not anymore, I try and let scripture interpret scripture. On the first resurrection in Rev 20, I believe the bible is pretty clear that regeneration of the soul is the first resurrection. The soul is dead in sins and trespasses, and we have been crucified with Christ and we have been raised with(resurrected) him and are seated in the heaven. Just as Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father. So therefore the second death or physical death of the body has no power over us. The first death was the fall, and the first resurrection was regeneration or the new birth was the first resurrection. We are buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him (resurrected ). I believe this is the correct interpretation of Rev 20.

I no longer believe in the pre-trib/pre-mi/dispensational positions. Why? The True Israel of God. I finally came to a biblical understanding of who is the true Church of God is.

I would also like to add my own thoughts, although I am not dogmatic, But, as a former believer in the pre-trib/dispensationalist/pre-mil position. I see no need for a future millennium on THIS present earth. The Church is the True Israel of God. The Jewish remnant i.e. Paul(JEW) is being saved during this age.

The kingdom of God is a present reality, though not yet consummated. The kingdom has both present and future elements. This age (already) and its future consummation( the not yet and age to come). The prospect of a future kingdom demonstrates that Christ's fulfillment of these Old Testament promises is typological of a more glorious and final kingdom yet to come. Christ's return is not the inauguration of a halfway step on the road to consummation called a "millennium". Christ's return is the consummation. Kim Riddlebarger.

I was going to ask the same question. I know after reviewing my comment, I wasn't exactly clear. But I believe we both agree Christ's Kingdom is not of this world or present earth physically. And though I am not ready to go full Amil, I am leaning there. It is everlasting to everlasting and eternal.

Great discussion, As a recovering pre-trib/dispensationalist, I too struggle with Rev 20. If you study the New Covenant/Testament only you don't see a literal 1000 year reign. I believe in Matthew Jesus says that His Kingdom is not of this world. 1 Cor 15:25 and its companion verse of Matt 22:44 and Psalm 110.1, Jesus is sitting on David's throne now at the right hand of the Father. Acts 15:16 and Amos 9:11-12. But if you read and study the Old Covenant/Testament, you see a future kingdom that seems earthly as in Isaiah and Zechariah and any other places. So, is everthing in the Old is fulfilled in New or in Christ Jesus? It seems so, ?

I believe one way to answer your questions is to refer back to who are the true children of Abraham, who are the Children of the promise? And it is quite obvious it is the Church of Christ, the Body of Christ. Both Jew and Gentile.

The Rapture of the Church

I at one time believed in a pre-trib rapture, but I just don't see it anymore. Why? If you study this Bible with an constant open eyes and with an ear to hear, you will see verse in Galatians and Romans and apply the verses in Matthew and the Old Testament to the Church and you will see who the True Israel of God is. I read the bible with blinders on, with rose colored glasses of dispensationalism. God only has one Church, there is only one body of Christ, there is one true Israel. There is only one true child of God and those are the true seed of Abraham, those in Christ, we are the children of the Promise. Both Jew and Gentile, one in Christ. Sudy the Bible with that in mind and you also will come to the conclusion there is no pre-trib rapture.

Why Calvinists Can't Preach
Sean E. Harris

“ Great Sermon! ”
As I was thinking more on the article, the words of Paul came to mind, the greatest preacher other than Christ of course who ever lived, 1 Cor 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be none effect. and 1 Cor 2:3-5 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling, And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, BUT IN THE POWER OF GOD. What Paul is saying here is salvation is the power of God, not him, not any other preacher. Not to diminish the role of a preacher or a lay person sharing the gospel, but sometimes we give ourselves too much credit.

I assume now remove the title Prince of Preachers from Charles H. Spurgeon. Just because someone does not know how to deliver a sermon doesn't change the doctrinal truth of the message. But, I agree some Presbyterian services can bring out the zzz monsters. I prefer a Reformed Baptist.

“ Great Sermon! ”
I teach them to love God and to put their faith the Lord Jesus Christ and He will take care of the rest. Besides, universal redemption, is dangerously close to universal salvation. And we all know most of the world will not be saved. And if God desires the whole to be saved and they are not. What does that leave us to assume? Christ's death was just a possibility of salvation? God plan of salvation is left up to man to complete. Leave out the L in Tulip and that raises up a lot of questions. Also limits God's sovereignty in election.

I don't speak for Pastor Sturm, but after thinking about his comment, I believe what he was referring to is, the opinion of some who believe that calvinist or if you prefer hyper-calvinist do not believe in evangelism or missionary work. But, that is not the case since some of the most notable evangelist and missionaries where 5 pt calvinist, i.e. Whitfield, Carey.

i am also trying to understand what the hyper-calvinist connection is? Some label you a hyper calvinist if you hold to all 5 points. Also i might add the term sodomite is consider a highly derogatory term these days.
