Rodney K. wrote: Sister Pennnnnnned, My comment to you was intended as encouragement, not rebuke. Sometimes I get the impression that you see the glass as half empty. Now I realize that I tend to be a bury my head in the sand type; I should probably be more concerned about certain things that the world is doing. I just wanted to remind you that no matter how much the world rages against the Christ and His church, he will bring all their efforts to naught. He will laugh at their vain attempts to thwart His decree. God bless. Hi Rodney, thank you for that, I do agree! |

John UK wrote: Jonathan Edwards alone has a series of no less than 25 sermons on the doctrine of original sin. the great irony of a man who would preach to the masses of being set apart from the sin of this world only to bring down his own body through trusting the local witch doctor. |

James Thomas wrote: Saul of Tarsus was in the old covenant. His sin was not being counted by God along with the rest of Israel until the law came. if I'm reading this right, that's way off.all people born in Israel were saved from their sins? nope. you had people sacrificing their babies to molech, deep into the occultic and pagan practices of the people around them. many did great evil. in the time of the major prophets, the prophets were some of the few that remained faithful to God. God chose Mary, she was humble of heart, Paul was on the road to judgment as were the Pharasees who crucified Christ, "Paul, why do you persecute me?" the Hebrew people had to reckon with God of their sin. Anyone here have a link to a sermon about those in the OC looking forward to the Messiah? always been a remnant. |

yes, amazing isn't it? the temple becomes the shadow of something greater, the unity of the scriptures and God's purposes unveiled through history until He returns."For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: "Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount. Heb 8:5 "For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect." Heb 10:5 |

Mike wrote: Seriously? yes, very seriously, this is the call of the follower of Christ. eschatology is a reflection of the preeminence of Christ in the gospel.and... its tripping over the same question the disciples tripped over and tripped over the whole time. so when is this kingdom? its already come (1Cor15 - he reigns until all souls of His are brought in and the last enemy is death). The tension between already come and the future completion at the resurrection... throughout the gospels for any who type in the word "kingdom" and study. and they looked at the magnificence of the temple, Christ doesn't say, oh great building, he says, "I'm the temple" and tells them their temple will be dismantled, every stone. why? Christ is the temple. The Kingdom is now available to Jew and Gentile. The Holy Spirit is with His people! The Holy Spirit empowers us to remain in Him and to be faithful to Him, that is victory even in an evil world. But we are in a rough times and we are ending an era when the church merged with the state and was prosperous and often lazy, and moving into a time of persecution. can we see Christ's intent in this or shall we see the sorrow and say God is not working here? |

Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. Revelations 1:7But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 1 Cor 15:23-26 |

s c wrote: I just came across this on youtube for those who are interested first hand in MacArthur's thoughts ah yes, America's prophet for the wores a decade later then holds a conference condemning those who have a prophetic voice.more ecumenicalism. he will either lead his church out of Babylon or be Babylon. there is no "third way" in Christianity. I know, I know, how could they be Babylon, they don't babble? Maybe to God his conference was babbling. Shall we condemn the underground church of China for the miracles they are seeing? Shall we obey our western, never tested false prophets who repeat the theology of their daddies and proclaim they have the mark of the suffering servant... when our brethren in China actually have the mark of the suffering servant? Men of God who have been scourged for the name of Christ. Lets not forget many evangelicals in China welcomed the oncoming communst rev because they had been taught the pretrib rapture theory and were NOT PREPARED to suffer for the name of Christ. Just like the generation of Moses left in the desert... Yet they will prevent fellowship among the suffering servants who do experience miracles... and shockingly CONVERTS. |

John UK wrote: Quite so, Penny. "And when his eyes were opened, he saw no man". So when Paul opened his eyes, he could not see. It only makes sense if it was physical sight. and would not the spiritual blindness be before the great light comes and the voice of Christ asks "why are you persecuting me?"after the light, he is blinded and told to go, and he obeys -- this is not spiritual blindness, but a spiritual awakening -- in his physically blinded condition, he stops persecuting Christ and finally obeys him, walking in the dark, although he has yet to be indwelled with the Holy Spirit or really understanding what Christ has done on the cross. reminds me of the writer of amazing grace, I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see. but the writer of the hymn was now physically blind, when he had sight, he had been working in the slavery business. and its a great reminder to us, we live in a dark world and we hear the voice of the shepherd and follow, or as Paul says in Romans that we see dimly, and I add, we still are obedient (that is at least the goal!) |

you see, BMc, all a pastor has to do is teach pop theology, about not having to suffer for Christ, and the goats can come to church every week and say that sanctification in this life doesn't happen, but "thy Kingdom come" is of no effect in their own lives. If "Baptists" believe they are not to be a part of Christ's Kingdom yet, then they are not in Christ's Kingdom and do not have the Holy Spirit. Bereft of the Holy Spirit, one is not born again. However, if one were to study Anabaptists, the first Baptists, some were way off, others were remnant believers who took up persecution rather than compromise their testimony and to receive believer's baptism. scofield has essentially re-Romanized what came OUT of Rome during the reformation. scofieldism is ecumenical, and in fact many believe that the ideas were designed by a Jesuit. Whatever it is, by not knowing or understand the Kingdom of God, many number among them that never counted the cost. I know many among them who just don't know better, the best antidote is reading the bible without Jesuit commentators. Here's a huge listout for those who want to research this: http://www.sermonaudio.com/new_details3.asp?ID=18870 but for those confused, turn off Gil and open the scriptures! |
