“ Great Sermon! ”
This is an important sermon, and if anyone doubts that there are rival law orders seeking to impose themselves on this nation, I invite you to listen to an intriguing edition of the radio broadcast Crosstalk, entitled, "The Gradual Insinuation of Islamic Law into Society," which can also be found on SermonAudio.com. God bless!

“ Critically important broadcast! ”
Everyone should listen to this program, and if you find it alarming, I would urge you to also listen to Brian Schwertley's sermon entitled "Social Covenanting, Part 19: Historical Examples, Jehoiada Part 2" given on October 21, 2012. This sermon can be found on SermonAudio.com, and will give understanding as to how we have come to such a crisis in this country, and what we must do about it. After listening to it, I would heartily recommend that you listen to Pastor Schwertley's entire series on social covenanting. God bless!

Hollywood: Satanic Roots

“ Great Sermon! ”
As a Covenanter, I must disown all errors in doctrine or practice, contrary to the Westminster Standards, held by Mr. Cooley as an Independent Baptist. However, by God's grace Mr. Cooley has brought forth an excellent message concerning the Satanic roots of Hollywood and the pernicious consequences of having any involvement at all with its productions. Very profitable listening for all who have ears to hear...

The Sin of Pride in Fashion
Paul Dowling

“ Great sermon! ”
This sermon is a much needed corrective for God's people today. It was a blessing to me to hear my own sins of a growing formalism in worship and greed exposed. It is too true that we can not love Jesus Christ with all our heart, soul, and mind if we also love this world. How cold our hearts and our worship become when love of the world begins to creep in. May God graciously grant repentance to his people, and withdraw his chastening rod from us. May he also continue to bless Pastor Dowling with grace to preach such sermons as this and the others in this series.

“ Great Program! ”
Thanks for the insightful broadcast! What we desperately need is to repent of being half-Christians and embrace the gospel whole heartedly with all its implications for our own lives and for society.

“ Powerful! ”
This is a very timely message. I especially appreciate Pastor Pollard's observations about how we use our "leisure" time. If we were more diligent to fulfill the responsibilities God has given us as Christians, we would have less time to abuse our Christian liberty. It seems that we all need to be more "about our Father's business."

Do Not Follow the Majority
Paul Dowling

“ Faithful Admonition! ”
Thank you, Pastor Dowling, for faithfully reminding God's people of their duty to follow the Scripture, and not follow the world. It is impossible to do both. How sad that one must stand alone in the church as well as in the world. It would be easier to follow the multitude of professing Christians in their disobedience, but the end is destruction. Better to follow the Lamb of God, for He promises eternal life to all who do.

“ By faith... ”
In troublous times, the just shall live by faith. Thanks for the encouraging message that the Lord is able to make his people stand with sure feet on slippery slopes, even when all around them seems to be in chaos. May we all prepare ourselves spiritually for the difficult days of judgment ahead.

“ Sobering... ”
Thank you, Pastor Dilday, for this sobering message concerning how we should view the calamity which has befallen Japan. We certainly do need to acknowledge God's righteous hand in what has happened, repent of our sins and call our own nation to repentance. Also, we must pray for the Japanese people, and especially for God's elect among them. Finally, we must ask the question, "How then shall we live?"

“ Great Sermon! ”
Thanks for showing how carefully God limited and controlled the use of musical instruments in the Old Testament Tabernacle and Temple worship, and how the use of musical instruments has been discontinued altogether in the worship of the New Testament church. We certainly do need a reformation of worship in our day. May the Lord be pleased to bring it to pass.

“ Great Sermon! ”
After listening to this sermon, I am asking myself why I would want to have fellowship and communion with the idols of ungodly contemporary American culture, when I can have communion with my loving Heavenly Father, who has lfted me up out of my sin and degradation. What a wonderful thing Christ did for me on the cross! May I live to glorify Him and enjoy communion with Him alone.

“ Far reaching implications... ”
Thank you, Pastor Dowling, for showing how the declension from acappella singing occurred mostly through catering to the tastes of the young people over the last three hundred years. It seems that the music they were engaging in out of church just had to be brought into the church. We see the same thing in our own time with popular music styles being utilized in the worship of God. Given these facts, and the fact that the context of Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16 is that of every day family life, or household rules, what music should believers be engaging in in their personal lives? If we are to preserve the pure worship of God in our churches, ought we not to bring our children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord by disallowing all music in our daily lives except the exclusive, acappella singing of the Psalter? Is it wise to pay for music lessons that may only lead our children to a desire to display their musical skills in the church? This may seem radical, but then Christianity is a radical faith that turns the world upside down. "...That which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God." Luke 16:15

I think that if Christian women understood the games that fashion designers are playing with women's bodies, they would be filled with holy anger, and would view fashionable clothing in a different way than they currently do. Thanks for the informative message!

Sermon:
Some Dynamics of Reformation
Pastor Steven Dilday
1
comment
“ Timely Reminder! ”
Thank you, Pastor Dilday, for the timely reminder that the reformation of God's people will meet with opposition from both within and without the church. The corrupt practice of marrying strange wives was widespread among God's people in Ezra's day, and it seemed to be almost beyond possibility of reform. But God was gracious to give the people repentance after Ezra had publicly prayed and confessed their sin. How good is our God, and how powerful to work in the hearts of men! The people of God in our time have also failed to "seperate themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations," in that we have corrupted ourselves with the "strange wives" of theatrical entertainments, worldly music and immodest dress. "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?" May God's ministers today humbly confess the sins of God's people and seek their reformation, knowing that God is able to work great things in the church in all ages. The corruption is as widesread today as it was in the days of Ezra, but be of good courage, and do the work, for God still gives grace to the humble.

“ Satan Unmasked! ”
In this sermon, Pastor Pollard demonstrates the reality of Satan's influence in our culture. If we would only take seriously the truth that the whole world is lying in wickedness, under the dominion of a destroyer and devourer who is subtle as a serpent, how circumspectly we would walk through this world, how we would seek to fill our minds with the good things of the Word of God, and to reject all things contrary to what is revealed in it. Thank you, Pastor Pollard, for faithfully preaching the truth.

Sermon:
Cultural Fables: Faith That Overcomes
Pastor Jeff Pollard

“ Life Changing Preaching! ”
Having been raised in an unbelieving home, when I first believed on Christ twenty years ago, I still believed an innumerable number of cultural fables, which are really the Devil's lies. I praise God for his infinite patience in teaching me, for I have been a very slow student in his school, and have only begun to make any considerable progress in exchanging these cultural fables for His truth over the last five years or so. I shudder to think of the dishonor I have done to the Lord, and the harm I have done to others, as I continued to live in worldly fables all those years. While my sin is wholly my own, I can't help but wonder if hearing this kind of preaching early in my Christian life would have sped up the sanctification process. Thank you for preaching so insightfully and faithfully. It is helping me a lot, and I pray it will help others as well.

“ Truthful! ”
Thanks for once more addressing a pet sin of contemporary Christianity. The world is too much with us, but perhaps if more pastors would preach the truth the Lord would be pleased to grant us a revival. Continue to lead the way!
