The Foundations Challenge is our attempt to encourage and inspire God’s people to return to extraordinary prayer and the ministry of the Word as the absolute foundations of ministry and the only lasting hope for our generation (Acts 6:4).
One evening. Two sessions. Prayer & The Word.
Comprised of two sessions in a single evening meeting, Dr. Steven Lawson will deliver the first address on the primacy of a passionate, Christ-exalting, Word-centered preaching ministry that reaches the hearts of men. The second address will focus on the need for “extraordinary,” united, Spirit-filled, believing prayer for the advancement of Christ’s kingdom on earth.
Most Christians would acknowledge, on paper, that these things are important ideals. But our burden is to challenge God's people to take it beyond mere mental assent and truly “give ourselves” to prayer and to the ministry of the Word in our daily walk.
America is starving.
We are witnessing a generation putting their hope in politics, presidents, and programs. For the most part, the church scene in America is one of powerlessness. Amos 8:11 tells us that the days shall come that God will send a famine in the land. “Not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD.” Our hope is to be found in Acts 6:4, “We will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the Word.”
