Comment:	Hi, the Heidelberg Catechism says that the Holy Spirit "assures us by the sacraments" (Q67). I beg to differ. Assurance of salvation is founded on God's promise to save His people based on the atoning blood and imputed righteousness of Christ *alone*. In fact, didn't God say that you must have assurance BEFORE you enjoy the Lord's Supper (1 Corinthians 11:29)? I look forward to hearing from you! Andrew C. Bain http://www.Godnoliar.com
