Using God's Name Exodus 20:7

I. God regulates your use of His Name.

A. Regard His Name as representative of His whole character.

B. He regulates the use of His name because of vain usage.

C. His name is to be hallowed.

II. Terrifying dangers await you for abusing God's Name.

A. God prohibits you from vain uses of His name.

B. Don't use God's name to make evil appear legitimate.

C. God is emphatic in His condemnation.

III. Hallow God's Name.

A. It is proper for you to swear legitimate oaths in God's name.

B. Christ calls you to use His name in calling on His Father.

C. You are to bear God's name in life—you are in His family.
