In 1 John 1:1-4, we are shown 4 realities concerning the incarnation of Jesus Christ.
I. The incarnation made the eternal God visible (vs. 1a, 2a, e, f, g).
II. The incarnation was validated by witnesses.
A. We heard Jesus (v. 1b, 3a).
B. We saw Jesus (vs. 1c, d, 2a, b, 3a).
C. We touched Jesus (v. 1e).
III. The incarnation brings life.
A. Jesus is the word of life (vs. 1f, 2a).
B. Jesus offers eternal life (v. 2d).
C. Jesus provides true fellowship.
1. With other believers (v. 3c).
2. With God (v. 3d).
D. Jesus provides complete joy (v. 4).
IV. The incarnation must be proclaimed (vs. 2c, d, 3b). |
