We live in a fast paced, multi-tasking, seven day a week culture but it is important for us to be still and know. That is the final twin command from the Psalmist, after emphasizing the presence of God and the power of God in this Psalm we see that the people of the God of Jacob are a privileged people who can have peace. The beginning of the Psalm makes it clear that such peace can be had even in troubled times; the end of the Psalm challenges all of us to be still and know, to focus upon God and sit at the feet of Jesus in the daily rhythms and the weekly rhythms. This must not be neglected, even in our fast paced world.
