Jesus' closing statement in verse 8 asks this very important question: When the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth? This may give us an indication of how many true Christians there will be, even at the end of the world, who will be brought to a very low place in the exercise of their faith just before Christ returns. It will be the case, that they were not prayerful, and that they will have lost heart concerning Christ's coming to deliver them from the problems coming upon Christ's church and the whole world at that time. However, Christ Himself reproves this kind of thinking through this parable that He gives. He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.
