This morning, I want us to look at an unlikely candidate for a Mother’s Day address. However, her name appears in a list of names such as Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Joseph, Moses, Giedon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets (Hebrews 11). This is quite a list, but as I said earlier, she would have been an unlikely candidate to be in the hall of faith. However, in the midst of our failures, God can make something beautiful out of brokenness. There is power in the gospel to transform anyone’s life who will turn away from sin and run to Jesus Christ for redemption. This morning, my thought is Rahab’s Redemption: The Beauty of a Woman Who Fears the LORD. I would like for us to read two portions of Scriptures: First, let’s read from Proverbs 31:30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Second, let’s turn to Joshua 2: 8-21 and discuss 1) Rahab’s Former Life 2) Rahab’s Fear of the LORD 3) Rahab’s Feminity Redeemed. |
