Russ from Left Coast (9/23/2009) “ Great Sermon! ” Jessica, I just downloaded this message and haven't yet listened to it so forgive me if I'm out of line here but the Supreme Creator of the Universe, speaking through Paul, told your HUSBAND to love YOU as Christ loved the church (unconditionally) and gave (all of) Himself up for it, not YOU to love your HUSBAND unconditionally. He tells men to love their wives 4x in the Ephesians passage and wives to respect their husbands as an afterthought. Earlier in the passage (Eph 5) HE calls husband to mutual submission. God does NOT expect you to respect your husband without his "earning" it by loving you FIRST. Read Ken Nair or Joel/Kathy Davisson for more, Fireproof/Love Dare, too.
