About two years ago, we created the NTEB Prayer List to lift up the prayers of the saints in these troublesome times, and untold thousands of people have prayed for the people on the list, and at various times times have asked to be placed on the list themselves. We have seen God answer those prayers time and time again, oftentimes in miraculous ways, and recently it got me to thinking about the power of prayer in the life of the born again Bible believer. Far too often, prayer is looked on as a lifeline of 'last resort', part of the 'if all else fails, pray!' type of mindset which is actually quite deadly in the life of saved Bible believers. Don't get me wrong, last resort prayer is certainly better than no prayer at all, but what type of difference might there have been in the outcome of the crisis had your fervent, effectual prayer been your first line of defense? From cover to cover, the Bible shows you saints in all dispensations who wielded the weapon of prayer to obtain mighty outcomes, it also shows you where the path of prayerlessness has taken those who have no time for conversation with the Lord. True prayer is not some mystical, high-sounding, mumbo-jumbo, but rather a direct, open and honest conversation between you and the One who created you. What could be more important than that? On this NTEB Sunday Service, we show you how to use prayer as the Lord intended us to.
