Habakkuk complained to the Lord about the moral condition of his neighbors, pleading with him to do something about it. When God replied that he would take care of it by raising up the Babylonians to judge his people, that only made things worse for Habakkuk. How could a truly holy God use treacherous people like the Babylonians to correct those who are his own? God's response takes up the whole chapter, but the key is in verse 4: "the righteous will live by his faith."
