Jesus is God “with us,” and God “for us!” Jesus-Immanuel is “born of a woman for us,” “born under law for us,” “on the cross for us,” “exalted and enthroned in heaven for us!” This morning we will have the privilege of combining both Christmas and Easter as we glory in and marvel at the work of Immanuel “God for us” in his birth, life, death, resurrection and ascension-exaltation at God's right hand! We will focus on the 3rd movement of the Apostle Paul's Christological hymn-poem in Philippians 2:6-11 that points to Jesus' exaltation “for us”. “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder…”
